EASHL Club Finals Matchmaking

Seems like the playoffs have gotten a bit easier over the last year or so.

Are opponents in each round limited to other teams in that round, or could a team in round four play against a team in round one, as long as they are playing for the same cup?

Also curious if there were other changes to matchmaking in club finals over the last year or two?
