Hitting

I have asked this question several times now. With no answer fed back. What does this game consider a hit? The game summary shows hits. Objectives from time to time will cross between hits and body checks. However. I have played games where the objective has called for hits. And in that game, the objective states 8 hits. However, the game stat shows 3 hits. What is the difference?  In reality a hit is a body check according to the NHL. So. Can the moderator please find out what their discription is of a hit. Frustrating enough trying to attain objectives, when hits are not considered hits. Body contact between two players is a hit/ body check whatever you want to call it. Hopefully this text will finally get an answer.

  • You probably need to pull back more when initiating a body check - just snapping it forward is counted as a shove even though you can still knock others down.
Their trackers have already been inconsistent at best so all I can recommend is keep trying

  • Thanks for the reply TTZ. But the reason why the checking is out of whack is. When they introduced the shoulder check. Up until then, hits were more prevalent. And the checking now is pretty much in the same realm as the penalty calls.  So inconsistent. Like i alluded to in my prose. I just want a definitive answer as to what they consider a hit. I've outlined the NHL definition, which is inclusive of bodycheck as being considered a hit. But apparently the game has a different interpretation. Would love to hear it.

If contact makes a player stumble, it counts as a hit.

Thanks for that feedback. And i would be satisfied with that answer if! During a game i have dislodged players from the puck. Checked them into the boards, and caused them to be off balance, or stumble like you mentioned. But the game stat at the end of the game does not recognize all contact. At the same time with an objective to complete that asks for hits. It shows (for example), 8 hits to the game stat showing 2. It is this that i question. Both designate hit. However, both are not in sync. Why? This is the answer i inquired about.
