Yes, when I exit the game, the game forgets everything after the previous match.
This has been the case since at least NHL2020, where you can cancel the main menu events by exiting and reloading the save, as well as playing the game again by quitting the entire game and reloading the game. So the autosave is the main culprit, it doesn't save - and this time even deletes the menu events after the previous match.

I always have autosave on because sometimes an accident can happen that I get locked out of the game and then lose dozens of matches I've played. I save manually when I quit the game for the exact reason that autosave doesn't save correctly.
I'm having the EXACT same problem as well, I accidentally exited be a pro when I was supposed to be promoted to the 3rd line, when I reloaded the save I was still on the 4th and didn't think anything of it but now I've played through the rest of the season and starting the next one and I haven't gotten a single talk with coach, and my target form score is still set to 35 with no end date, please say there's a way I can fix this I've played nearly 60 hours on this account.
Same works other way, you can stay 3rd line if you want, just reload game and there it is... Feels like cheating but its possible.
