Make Be a Pro great again...
Hopes and thoughts:
-"Be a pro" mode based on NHL20's version Be a Pro and NHL25 gameplay.
-Put back junior leagues and build player values to match your own playstyle starting in the junior league (starting all values from 50). Players' values should develop quickly at the beginning (50 to 80) and slowly towards 99 towards the end.
-You could choose your player type and wish for your playing position like now, but the junior series will show if you are suitable for it. It would be great to be able to switch from left wing to right if it starts to feel better. The coach could also ask you this (like you can ask your player in GM mode).
-The junior league should be based on a system where you have to "develop" all the time, meaning if you play a perfect season right at the beginning and don't improve the next season, you will only become a top 9 forward and not, for example, an elite player and can be drafted in later draft rounds in the NHL draft.
The idea is that you get a status-based evaluation, at the junior level you are evaluated in 1 season, in the NHL at the age of 18-24 with an average of 2 seasons, at the age of 24-32 with an average of 3 seasons, etc. At the age of 37 you could be evaluated on a career-wide scale (are you a club legend or are you just old, are you expected to retire and no longer receive job offers). Your player's abilities and status are shaped according to these and you get playing time and evaluation along with it. Just like real NHL.
-Appointment of captains and alternate captains for the junior league (This is in NHL). The captain can also be given additional tasks, such as speaking to the team during halftime, which gives the team a boost.
-Full practice day between games when you can increase skills etc. + weekly skill points.
-Remove the entire x-factor system and create a boosting system in its place where a player's abilities increase and also decrease with fitness/point streak/wins. (modern version from old NHL "stick image"/"bull's eye" type system). Hot player is hot but rarely whole season. Need more bad seasons too.
-The player must be able to "compensate" for his inefficiency, for example by fighting, blocking shots or tackling (even taking a penalty in the right situation). The point requirement should be lowered and the team's victory should be made the first priority.
-More rewards for concrete contributions to team victory.
-The game revolves too much around that one character, or rather, responsibility, even though it's about "being a pro", meaning you play your own character. Despite this, hockey is a team game, not a one man army.
-The requirements for each position need to be completely re-created, it's not right that a defensive defenseman is required to score almost 20+50 points per season just to stay at the NHL level. Each role needs to be built in a way that it can be at the peak of its own abilities.
-Other things, award galas etc. extras, there is no limit to them, the NHL's backstage is really big so anything extra is welcome. Many people think these are bad and a bit unnecessary, but they are BIG part of the NHL. The Stanley Cup victory celebration has always improved, even though there is no real memory of it (a team photo would be a nice memento for the trophy cabinet, right?).
-All-Star games and skills competitions and maybe even the World Hockey Championship in the middle of the season.
-A physical prize cabinet where you can find all the prizes, including the memorial cup and stats book. Team photos for stanley cups etc. (Replay for your first goal is always good memory for NHL player).
-In-depth statistics, information about injuries, retired players, etc.The NHL lives primarily on statistics, which are never enough and are highly hyped.
-Ability to express an opinion on teammates trade or give the coach a wish that something should be changed.
-the opportunity to request to stay in the AHL/ CHL if playing there or the NHL 4th line does not have enough ice time. Or if the NHL is out of the playoffs and other team has a chance at the championship.
-Possibility to influence the team's game strategy with your own line (e.g. you want a teammate to stay at the back post in a power play situation).
- Fix penaltys.
- Player change at the puck drop is totally missing in game.
