Matchmaking needs a rework

They say this is to get games faster but the amount of constant backing out to find a better match is beyond frustrating

Exactly, it gets games faster but people are backing out even more. That‘s the negative side of it. They probably didn‘t think of this.

My team sucks we constantly play higher levels, or when we have 3 people we play 2 or we have 2 we play 3 

Agreed.  Switch back to MMR based matchmaking please!  Go with the layered approach and make it transparent.  Start by trying to match rank exactly, then every 30 seconds expand the circle.  Give the players a message that the circle has been widened (many multiplayer games already do this).

Also, being able to practice with your teammates while a matchmaking search is in progress (a la Rocket League or NBA 2K), would help the time feel faster.  Added benefit of warm ups before a match.

Matchmaking absolutely needs to go back to skill based.  

Giving this thread a bump to add an experience from last night.  My EASHL clubs team is made up of silver and golds.  We play 6s with a CPU goalie.  Last night during a club finals match we matched up with a team of all elites.  We put up a fight for half the game but eventually got smoked.  After the game we saw there was an average of 11,000 RP difference between our players and theirs (20k vs 31k).  Maybe, at the very least, we can cap this to 4,000 or 5,000 in the playoffs?

This has been brought up many times.. I believe ea doesn't not care to fix this problem .. they say player base is to small.

I know they can fix this problem,  ever since finals started .. games have been matched pretty even .. except for the couple games where you find a trolling brand new club of players unranked and like 10 goals in round 3 of the playoffs. As long as we find a match ea doesn't care who plays who.
