Memorial Cup game - cannot score

Have played this game (beginning of career) and have lost it 20 + times (yes I close the game with under 2 minutes left in 3rd period) 

NO ONE on my team seems to be able to score. 

Seems like every 3 shifts the other team scores when I am off the ice.

Is this supposed to be the way? Are we supposed to lose this game?

AND I have been playing NHL for YEARS so I know how to play.

Please help
