Hagens likeness will get in at the next and last roster update. Meanwhile disturbing me this massive black silhouettes more than face scans.
Face scans are still the bigger issue for me, but the black silhouettes make things look unfinished too. I agree there is a simple way to improve both.
Give players without licensed photos a generic face image instead of a silhouette. Also allow us to fully edit generic players, even if they currently have a licensed photo. Once we choose to edit them, remove the licensed photo and replace it with the generic face. That is how Madden handles it.
That way, even without scans, every player still looks like an actual person and we can customize them ourselves.
It would not replace face scans, but it would make the game feel complete in the meantime. It would also require adding more generic face options, especially younger player models, along with better and more varied hair.
