Honestly, good game design/semantics convo so far, going to add my two cents as simply as possible. I don't think anyone on here really thinks skill isn't the main determining factor. In any game, if you buy the best build/weapon/car/whatever and then hand the controller to a two year old, they aren't winning anything. Anything that truly has the power to directly buy wins is more akin to cheating. But there is also a very distinct red line between in-game purchases (which can be made via real world currency) that merely provide aesthetics vs ones that do have a direct influence on the gameplay. However small the influence may be, once you cross that line, you enter the Pay To Win territory. We are there now with Chel.
