What if EA would just opensource it?
I mean yes, it is a crazy idea, and I guess hell will freeze over before we might see this happen, but what if EA would just opensource the development of this game since it seems not having any plan...

100% agree with this. I only play EASHL, i dont care about HUT or real NHL teams. def wouldnt miss OP mcdavid premades skating around.
I think what you and CharlesConway333 said may well be true. This game franchise had it all together back in 2014. The collectors and NHL fan part as well as the online competition part. I do understand that EA's only goal is to make money, because they are a business at the end and they get screwed by their shareholders if they do not make a [REMOVED] of it. Considering that the competitive digital hockey players might not care so much about irl teams and players is something I did not take into consideration a lot. Maybe this could lead to someone doing something in the EASHL domain. I doubt it, but it would at least put some pressure on EA to get their developers on track again.
