Why is it so hard to get assists in Be a Pro?

I’m a playmaking RW on the fourth line and I agree that feeding the slot, etc, doesn’t work too often. I’ve had a lot better luck by passing it back to the d and letting them blast away. They actually shoot this year which is actually a big improvement imo. Maybe it’s because I’m playing with linemates who aren’t very skilled, but letting them create traffic in the low slot while the d fire away has been productive.
