WoC Feedback

The mechanics of chel in this game are absolutely terrible. I have many hours on the game and my character has over a point per game, but my chel team cannot win. First if all we play people who spend more time on this game than a 9-5, and study one game breaking mechanic to score against our goalie who cannot save a shot from a first grade kid. Secondly, the ais in this game are out of this world horrendous. The ai is coded only for this game, but makes plays that no hockey player on gods green earth would ever fathom attempting to. They would be better at NBA 2k than this garbage. Lastly EA is against our team. Last game I hit the post 5 different times, and the other team scores from the blue line use the saucer pass button and scores, like the game is actually against us. My question is why is the game coded so horribly and who is responsible for the games bad mechanics?

  • Lets see if I can handle this one, you have many hours and your character has over a point per game. That's pretty good. So you are accounting for at least one goal per game for your team. That's not very good though if the other teams score two goals in a game so you by yourself is not enough. You are going to need some teammates to help you get that win.  You say you are playing people who are 9-5 on the game? How do you know this? Are you tracking their time played every game? Anyways you say they use one mechanic to beat your goalie. If that's the case then it should be easy for someone to pick goalie and stop them every time which would help with your winning issue. The AI in this game are horrendous. They aren't very good sure but if they were made to be super amazing, then what would the point of playing the game be when the AI would do everything for you? You would just end up sitting and waiting which doesn't seem like a very fun game. If you are playing EASHL, why not play with 6 humans? Then you don't have to worry about any AI getting in your way which would probably help with the not winning thing as well. Lastly, EA is not against your team, yes a bad goal may have been scored but 10 seconds ago why did you or your teammate do this play that led to the turnover that led to the easy chance for the goal to be scored. The smarter you make the AI, the more you are spectating and not playing the video game.

  • I totally get where your coming from but I wish I could just record my games and show you, I feel the exact same way as this guy, it’s stupid that your ai d man gets walked around, and then they go down and score the exact same forehand backhand goal that your goalie never ever adjusts to, I just had a game like that and lost because their team then passed the puck slowly from their blue line with two people in his face hitting him and attempting to poke check him, while he was pinned to the boards right on the line, he kick passes the puck which just floats down the ice through one of our guys skates right through the middle of the crease and into a tap in…. That should never ever happen, but things like that happen genuinely every game, we can work our butts off moving the puck getting great shots and their goalies making diving saves etc and then they go down and throw a muffin one timer on net while skating backwards at full speed into the boards and score…. It’s just stupid.

The only answer you will get from the forums is skill issue. We all know the game is bad. G are horrible, no one wants to play the spot because it's horrible. Offense get skills that literally slow you down. Put pressure on top of it and just a joke. Laying a good hit on d or poke does nothing to there pressure when it should lower it a chunk. It's 99 percent offense with stupid skins and builds people exploit. It's rare to match up to a fun fair game. It's sad but true the old dev team back in the day were good about updating and fairness. This is just a card and skin shop now. Eas greed was chels downfall.

Just have your whole team put gold truculence on your characters. The only skill that matters in this game. It literally allows bad players to be in games because the hits lock on and suck you in sometimes.

CHEL doesn't make them enough money to care about the game mode. The little money they make from the ridiculous skins is from less talented players throwing 30+ big hits a game. The big hits are the only that keeps that player base around. This game will never be in a fun/competitive state as long as EA is the only one making a hockey game. They can just copy and paste every year and get away with it because it's the only hockey option.

Although truculence is way OP and some of the getup animations take far too long, a team with quick passing and skill can easily trounce a team that relies heavily on it. If you're being caught in big hits often, it's worth it to use the Warrior x-factor.

The big hits can be really dumb sometimes, but I think what keeps the player base around is the game's ability to allow you to play hockey with your friends. I know it's trendy to hate on the game but the reality is there are thousands of people playing the game every day , all year long.

The game is used for lots of prominent and competitive esports leagues. I think that says something.

You can definitely beat those types of teams with skill, quick passing and playing smart.  The late hits window makes it difficult sometimes though.  EA needs to adjust this a bit.  I have elite warrior on my dman builds and it helps a lot.  After an initial hit my player usually bounces right back up uninjured with not much endurance/stamina lost.  Against teams that focus on hitting rather than winning it’s a different game.  You know the teams that play just trying to injury players.  We usually win but we take a hell of a beating with those late hits in the process.  The various people that I play with usually don’t play those types of teams.  Those games just drag out way too long and we rather play teams with skill and smarts which are more fun and actually take skill to play.
