Born Leader

Can we get an official explaination of EXACTLY what Born Leader does? I have my entire 2nd line of forwards and defense are Elite Born Leader (except my LD who is allstar level). Also 2 of my first line are Elite level. I'm doing this to keep Lemuex and Bourque on the Ice longer to acheive the EXCESSIVE objectives. The in game description is "Rally the team with every action by increasing team energy after every Shot Block, Body Check, or Shot on Net and fully restoring team stamina when accepting a fight. Team Energy(shot Block) +10%, Team Energy(body Check) +10%, Team Energy(shot) +10%." So one shift from this line with 5or 6 shots and a couple hits should completely refill my meters. But it doesn't. Sometimes it feels like it made a difference but most of the time it does little to nothing. Can we get an explanation EA_Aljo ?

They really need to boost the abilities like Born Leader to have a far more immediate and useful impact because your complaint is verifiably valid. If I have a bunch of Born Leaders activated on my team, the entire team should stay pretty well energized the vast majority of the game if every single shot/hit/shot block is adding 10% of energy to the team and/or line. We all can see that isn't the case though so more than likely it needs to be an amazing shot (or amazing save by the opposing goalie I suppose), a hit which forces the player to drop his stick or a shot block when the player is in an actual shot block animation. Anything else like a shove check, a puck that hits your defender in the skate while he is just standing in the way of the shot and not being in the shot block animation or weak shots on goal don't seem to count towards the boost. In theory that makes sense as the game is awful at what counts as a hit so theoretically if you load up on Born Leaders, your team will be near peak energy the entire game which would be it's own unfair advantage.

I only activate Born Leaders on my bigger players who I know will deliver big hits and any card with Truculence. Born Leader and Truculence are very helpful as you will naturally get a lot more massive hits with Truculence activated which activates the Born Leader ability so it's a positive double whammy.

There shouldn't be any confusion whatsoever on what abilities do, how they impact the game and what limitations they have.

    Guesses? What I wrote wasn't a guess.

You did NOT write that you make shots, blocks, etc., with the Born Leader players, but only that they are in the same line.

I just wanted to help since you don’t know the difference between active and passive using of players/abilities ... and it’s Sunday, so you definitely won’t get a response from EA_Aljo  or any other EA forum staff today, let alone a current Dev posting here, since they aren’t allowed to say anything anyway

But if you don't want help in a FORUM, but only from EA or its employees, you should try EAHelp

Huh? "Rally the TEAM with every action by increasing TEAM energy" TEAM, TEAM, TEAM. I understand an individual performs the act. I play the game. But the EFFECT of said act should be TEAM wide. And I have 8 INDIVIDUALS on my first 2 lines, all with this INDIVIDUAL ability, that should effect the whole TEAM. Please don't respond with guesses. It's ok not to know something. I understand you post a thousand times a day, but that doesn't make you an employee of EA. EA_Aljo an input from the DEV team would be great. Thank you

    "one shift from this line"

Born Leader is a player ability, not a team ability, even though the entire team benefits from the effect
