Here I am playing a ranked game against an opponent who is so much better than me - gee what a surprise and I’m experiencing the worst lag I’ve ever seen just to top it off.

We’ve tried these steps before and our connection is good and fast but we seem to have that half second delay with online matches.
We both play on PS5 with wireless connections.
This has been a constant problem with EA's decision to remove online HUT servers this year. They have handcuffed a lot of the playerbase into playing games on 3x the ping( 30-40 m/s) from previous years to then have to constantly play people on servers with 2 m/s pings.
It makes it so people that lost their home servers this year can't even be competitive. The seond you have two people of the same skill with one on 2 m/s and one on 30 m/s the 2 m/s player will always win.
Curious if this is happening on your original search for an opponent or if it’s on the second or third attempt and they’re just trying to get you into a game.
