Is NHL 27 the worst EANHL of all time?
Given what was advertised and comparing it to what was released, is this the worst EANHL of all time? If so, why?

Well from the customization or what is beside the gameplay would say yes, absolutely, at least no step better than all years before. The most important draft picks and draft prospects are missing cause this NCAA rule which is valid since August 2025. The CHL has now only few good draft prospects and is no good option for a draft class anymore. The roster creator doing their best to create this missing players, but for a good customization we have no possibility to upload headshot player pics. The silhouettes are massive and it looks soulless, maybe better to remove all headshot player pics ;-) The creation zone for players aren't that good. They reworked faces, eyebrows, hairs with the AI. Hairs to create we have only less options which are since a decade the same and make it very difficult to create good looking generic players. NHL players joked about their likenesses. New logos for team creation? Goalie masks or better a creator? Some few sticks and skates have been added. No satisfaction !
Hardly. NHL 15 will hold that crown for years to come.

As stripped down as nhl 15 was, and I really hate to say this...still played better than this garbage we have today.

Yea and when NHL 31 comes out, there will be people who take sweaty losses and come here to tell us how great of a game NHL 27 was.
The sun rises and sets, we go around in a circle, everything repeats.
Gameplay not looking as real nhl game. There is no one point you will remember this game. This title is top of the bad. Nhl 19 with the good sliders look as real nhl. I have this good sliders after 5 years of experience. I am playing this everyday with real hooking, slashing, tripping penalties. Who did nhl 19 as programmer was genius. Cpu playing as real players, there is no more different from real games. Goalies in the nhl 19 are the top of the sports games all of time. On otherhand Nhl 20 to nhl 27 are unplayable in offline modes thanks nonsenses as opposite hit, x factor, power circle between the real circles has term : useless of useless. If you compare nhl 19 with my sliders and any other game you will be shocked how people are paying for this horrible titles every year.
Nhl 19 is top. Ea can do repolish this game for better graphic, full rosters with full players pics and sell fo 100 bucks as remake. I will pay again.
Your question again: Yes, nhl 20, nhl 21, nhl 22, nhl 23, nhl 24, nhl 25, nhl 26, nhl 27 are the worst hockeys for offline players ever.
It may have played slightly better overall (however the community now seemingly likes and wants an arcade game over a simulation game so that's not fully on EA)..
This also touches on the point that this game is not what was advertised... Prior to the first big patch/update it played more simulated hockey, however the discourse and feedback by the community pushed it in the direction to what it is now (players complained the game was too slow and you couldn't skate past almost every player with any player, you couldn't finish your checks).
This all factors into what type of game players want (where chel and HUT players want arcade and the offline want simulation), sadly you can't have both so we tend to get some odd mix between the 2 after player feedback is given and listened to..
I will admit the face scans were a lot better in NHL 15. Intros were good and maybe better in ways.
However NHL 15 was a fully priced tech demo.
Truth. This is the worst version ever. They keep playing us. Over the last 5 years each new version is worse than the last. I deleted it, redownloaded and am close to deleting again. Worst hockey game of all time. Hands down.
Considering what was promised—namely, a fancy "video" marketed as a game—this is absolutely brilliant. Great arenas and new faces; surely that was enough, right? (sarcasm)
