Why don’t aspects like player aging, retirement, and season stats carry over through connected franchises? This “new” mode is just gm connected but stripped down from all available info.
Will the mode be built on during the games lifecycle? Other ea games have the full version of the mode available so it’s just a bit of a head scratcher why we’re only getting some of the mode.

Really bad way to bring it back after 13 years. It's gonna be DOA for a lot of people with the current setup.
The harsh reality is that this is a connected season mode, not connected franchise mode. You get to play a single season and that is it. This is the most clear cut fraudulent and deceptive marketing practices that I think I have ever seen from EA.
The problem will be solved if they call the team of Madden , to have the template to create the Franchise Online.
Feels odd that there was enough time for you to edit the post CM, but not enough time to leave a quick “we’re looking into it,” “we don’t have information,” or even “this isn’t something we can comment on.” Is the forum just damage control? lol

You make a fair point. Player aging, retirements, and career stats are a big part of Franchise, so it makes sense that people expected them here too.
Hopefully this is just the first version and EA expands it over time. Constructive feedback like this helps show what's missing.

Saying that it isn't limited to one season, but then saying almost everything that makes it worthwhile to play more than one season isn't in the mode, is pretty ridiculous. It's a connected season for all intents and purposes and it was an intentional and unacceptable move by EA to call it a connected franchise. If there was regression, progression, entry draft each new season etc. I could have seen a manual workaround that could be done offline to get around the retirement/players not aging/stats not carrying over issue but there is no way those features are going to be included if other more basic features have been stripped away.
This is a horrible start to NHL 27 for EA they need to take a diffeneet direction in terms of planning on when to release something idc if I have to wait two more years release the mode when it’s done not when it is 20% done
