NHL 27 Facescan LOCKS
When EA Sports NHL promotes the face scans captured at the NHLPA Upper Deck Rookie Showcase, I just want to say one thing: either stop advertising them or actually include them in the game.
NHL 27 should be the year with the highest number of face scans in franchise history, including a record number of rookies. With Macklin Celebrini as the cover athlete, and the fact that it is now 2026, there is no excuse anymore. Every other EA Sports title features face scans for almost every player in the game. Yes, I know NHL is the smallest EA Sports franchise, but that should not be a reason to keep falling behind.
Below is a list of players who have been scanned at the NHLPA Upper Deck Rookie Showcase over the past few years, along with players who have been confirmed to be scanned through other sources. Many of them have made it into the game, but far too many are still missing despite already playing a significant number of NHL games or approaching an 80+ overall rating.
It simply does not make sense to leave out players like Igor Chernyshov, Colin Graf, Quentin Musty, Sacha Boisvert, or Anton Frondell. These are players who are expected to play major roles on rebuilding teams. ESPECIALLY with your new intro system, where after every goal there’s a close-up frame of the player who scored, or the play being highlighted, it makes absolutely no sense to have completely inaccurate generic faces on players. Not at all.
Young players are the future of the NHL, and they deserve to look like themselves in the game.
Do all of us offline players a favor and add them. I expect at least 80% of this list to be included in NHL 27.
