Sorry Gobby, I see the passion but I am with the other guys on hitting. The hit window was in a bad place last game. It was exploitable and tuned the gameplay too close to an arcadey-hitz version. Some may like it but I'd rather that's kept for special modes. EA updated the timing to address it (making the window very short), and then updated it again after backlash from the hitters (finding more of a middle ground). Players are going to take time to relearn their muscle memory and my worry is any more tuning and we are back to the NHL 26 crap.
On accidentally taking an interference penalty when you want to shoot, L2 does help. Also its not perfect by any means but this is an area where they've done a decent job at addressing an issue. It was real bad a couple games ago, made it difficult to try for rebounds or cross creases as the danger of just hitting instead was high.
