Why create a new game when it’s not finished

Why do you guys create new modes for games and not have them finished? I don’t understand how you can charge so much for the new nhl and you bring back gm connected but it’s not finished. What’s the point of bringing it back if the whole mode is not finished. It’s pretty much just a roster update at this point . I think you need new people in that position because it’s pretty sad that ea is billion dollar company but they can’t finish a mode in a year.’Yeah like at that point I shouldn’t have to pay full price for a gaMe. Everyone that works on nhl needs to be fired because all they have done in the last 10 years is copy the previous game into a new disc with new year and charge way more

I get the frustration. If a mode comes back, people are naturally going to expect it to be more complete.

I do think it's worth waiting to see what's planned before launch, but it's fair to want more from a full-priced game.

Because they have a 1 year development cycle.  In 1 year you can barely add anything in programming after concept phase, planning phase, testing phase and so on.

But they want to charge the price of AAA complete game each year and to justify it, they need to pretend like they are adding a lot of stuff.   But there is no way they have time to add everything so as long as it sounds like they are adding stuff, the addicted fans will pay top $ for the equivalent of a patch.

Hope this helps.   If people voted with their wallets, this broken implementation and monetization system would have to change but currently, why wouldnt they keep doing this?  top profit with minimal investment/effort.  and by minimum effort, im not talking about the 10 developers (I have no idea how many but im sure its way under what they need) who are pressured to make miracles with the little time they have to try to add enough materials for marketing to sell as a new game.

  • They wanted to trick people into buying the game not knowing that it isn't a true connected franchise mode, plain and simple. They should have held off on implementing it until it is the same as offline franchise mode except, you know, connected. That shouldn't have to even be said. This maybe the first NHL game I don't buy in a very long time unless some serious gameplay changes are announced in the coming month and a half but based on the reveal trailer, they put all their resources into presentation/commentator/connected season.
