Can not lock position in HUT online/offline games

Product: NHL 19
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Start HUT online season game. 2. Invite your friend to the lobby. 3. Either of you can not lock positions (LW, RW, C etc.)
What happens when the bug occurs? Either of you can not lock positions (LW, RW, C etc.).
What do you expect to see? At least one of you should be able to lock position. It should be enough that at least one of the players play without locked position. In normal online versus game (not HUT) it is still possible to lock positions for all players.
Was the issue in online or offline mode? Online

95% of all of my played games in NHL 18 were HUT online co-op games with the other played locked as LW and I played without locked position. This lack of the locked positions in HUT renders the ultimate version I preordered pretty much useless.

    Well.. This is not a bug though - it's something they changed for NHL'19. It is frustrating for scenarios you mention here, but its not a bug - its a missing feature 🙂

    Seems a bit of a bug though, since it was a "missing feature" in NHL 18 also, but fixed later on.

    But still, could you elaborate your knowledge about this change e.g. Official EA changelog, EA news or something else?

    Also there's the question, why can you lock positions in HUT - Play with Friends in NHL 19 and also in Online Versus?

    If this is an intended change, why remove it totally -- wouldn't it be enough to force at least one to have no position lock at all?

    This way it'd be fair so players couldn't lock themselves e.g. as Defense Men, and that way gain advantage of AI for their offense.

    I also think that it is okay, when playing solo Online, to be unable to lock yourself into one position on the ice.

    I still refer to my previous points about this change and ask: is it better to remove a feature than to fix it for a better fit for competitive online play?

    Probably not, but it is a lot easier to do.

    Oh... I have missed that article totally.

    What a disapointment that this was the way to solve the problem that I agree existed. We have played with my friend 500+ games only in HUT 18 and faced many of those position lock abusers, but mostly players who used it fairly (at least one had the control of all players) and only a few that played with no position lock at all. I understand that it should be disabled in 1vs1 games, but there's should be a possibility to lock position when playing co-op with the precondition that at least one player has to have no position lock.

    NHL's best game mode ruined for me and my friend, because without the position lock at all, the co-op playing experience is just a random mess, far from competitive gaming. I really hope the position lock is added to HUT in the way that it blocks the abuse, but doesn't ruin the game mode for fair gamers like me and my friend.
