Cant play EASHL on same wifi as brother

Hello,

My brother and I play on separate Playstations in the same house and are wired to the same internet. (Yes we have tried every combination of wifi and wired) When we try and get into and EASHL game it won't let us find a game but if we leave and our friends play they can get in easily. Playing in the same lobby or on the same team works in every other game that is not made by EA Sports. For example, on NBA 2K when we play on the same Pro-Am team there are no issues, or when we play in the same Minecraft world, or Call of Duty lobby nothing bad happens. This has been happening for the last 2 years on NHL and FIFA too and we have found no solution. I have looked at other forums of people trying various internet settings with no luck. I have now created 3 cases with EA support and they have had no answer for me. I really hope someone can help me because we won't be continuing to buy EA products if this continues to happen. All I wanted to do to celebrate the new year was hop on EASHL with my brother and my friends but EA had other ideas. The funny thing is, it let us play together for 3 days but yesterday it magically stopped working without us making any changes to our internet or its settings.

Please respond if you can help or are having the same issue!

@SocairWe both have our own playstation accounts, only one has ps plus as we game share

I’m surprised the system without PS+ can even get into a lobby. I’m assuming you have your account on that system as well and your brother is a second account? I don’t know how that works with other games actually because you shouldn’t be able to get online with two accounts using the same game. Sony and MS put restrictions in to prevent this.

  • @Socair We "game share" so that both accounts can use the same games and the same playstation plus. There aren't any restrictions from what I've seen considering thousands of people do this. We can both play online games by ourselves but the problem occurs when we play on the same team for EA games. If we play online against each other there are no problems. Very weird.

What troubleshooting have you performed so far? I'd like to avoid repeating steps you've already performed. One thing to be sure to check is to have UPnP enabled on your router.

  • @EA_Aljo I haven't checked the in depth router settings but we have tried switching off wired connection, closing application, restarting our playstations. One thing we have had some success with is when we reset our router and go into a game after it immediately works for one or two games but then the problem happens again. We could just reset the router every time we want to play but obviously its not good to constantly unplug it. I will be sure to check my settings to see If UpnP is enabled and will get back to you...

Sounds good. Just get back to me when you check that setting. Also, check the NAT setting for both consoles. It's in the Network Settings screen. If it is strict or Type 3, you'll need to change your NAT so it's either Open or Moderate (Type 1 or Type 2).

You're unable to both play because one of you doesn't have PS+. Game ownership can be shared between 2 accounts but I'm pretty sure PS+ can't be shared across two systems.

If they somehow changed the rules, you both being on the same wifi could be causing an IP conflict - I suggest one person attach the google address to their console

  • @TTZ_Dipsy Ps Plus can be shared to two accounts at once. My brother and I have no problems playing NBA 2K online together, Minecraft, Call of Duty. It only occurs when we play FIFA 21 and NHL 21 ... EA games. Although, when we play FIFA Ultimate Team or Hockey Ultimate Team against each other there are no problems. It must be some sort of glitch where it only occurs if we load in as members of the same team.

It's possible gamesharing is causing this. I've seen some reports of others having the same issue, but it's not something we specifically removed.
