I have no problem waiting a year to get a PS5 but ONLY IF NHL 23 meets some of my personal
requests like the helemtless players option.
@AtishksinghI can appreciate that. I spent a great deal of time creating players for my Alumni rosters within NHL 21. I bought NHL 22 and I have to say that I'm pleased with all of the last names that are now in the gameplay that weren't there last year. I'm puzzled why "Barrasso" still isn't in the database though. 2nd all time veteran for the Pens. Won the Cup twice. His name belongs in the database IMHO. Now if they'd only add the helmet-less player option and vintage goalie masks. 🙂
Also, note to the Moderator to be passed on please, please allow the rosters that we create in NHL 22 to be imported into NHL 23 and on. It's a pain to re-create these rosters year after year. Thank you!!

Importing rosters is huge. That way people will keeping buying the new game regardless.
Totally agree Barrasso should be in the game and also should be in the Hockdy Hall of Fame too.
For his play by play name I just use Barbario?
It sounds close enough in games lol
Have you joined our discord group with all the Alumni players?
Best way to show EA what we want is by adding pictures to the posts.
I'll be requesting some different player models in the next couple days here and I'll show pics of how OUR player models look better than EA sometimes.
Like I want a young prime Mario Lemieux and Jagr. Not the old player models we hot in NHL 22. I created both of those players from their primes and it looks and feels way better on the ice.

Was watching Slapshot last night in Netflix. How cool would it be to make the Charlestown Cheifs and everybody from that team?
Creating helmetless players would lets us do that.
Also be fun if we could add fun things like glasses, black eyes and no front teeth for the players.
Then we could make movie hockey characters like the Hansen Brothers n Trailer Park Boys
- T2HD4 years agoRising Veteran@Atishksingh I am following one of the groups but I'm not aware of the one with all the Alumni players. What is the name? Thank you! Thanks re: the name suggestion. I already used Barbario for Vinnie Barbarino from the Welcome Back Kotter team. Horseshack was my favorite. LOL

I think Burrows also works as a play by play name for Barrasso.
- 4 years ago@olavi4 That works but Barberio matches the syllables in Barrasso name

For goalies whose name is not in play by play I just use 'Goalie'.
- T2HD4 years agoRising Veteran@SvenArne123 Thanks! Yes, I decided to use Goalie for Barrasso as well. Funny that his name was not in there. However, to EA's credit, there are a lot of names in there that were missing in NHL 21. Ciccarelli for one! 🙂
- 4 years ago@T2HD They added just about every name that was missing
- T2HD4 years agoRising Veteran@Atishksingh They did add a bunch but still no Barrasso, Zalapski , Worsley, Maniago, Kamensky or Siltanen just to name a few. Not to say than I'm unhappy with the huge number of additional names this year. But some of these missing names are kind of glaring omissions.

Here's hoping we get this.option in the newest patch
Thanks

This option wasn't included in the latest patch. I'm still holding out hope. But if not I hope its in NHL 23.

Roster Sharing doesn't work for creating Alumni Teams if we have to put helmets on everyone.

While I'm very happy with the roster sharing and other issues that were corrected in this patch, I have to say that I'm very disappointed that the option to create a player without a helmet or a goalie with at least one vintage goalie mask still isn't an option. The NHL series on the 360 had several vintage goalie masks available and they're in the game on so many Alumni teams (that also have players/goalies with NO helmets). Here's a pic of my created Cesare Maniago for the Minnesota North Stars. While he looks great, he would look soooo much better if he was wearing a vintage goalie mask like he wore when he played. I just don't understand why we at least can't have that option. We've been asking for it for years now and we're never provided any explanation re: why it's gone from Create a Player (given it used to be in the game). It's also very odd that Jacques Plante was the first goalie to invent and wear a vintage goalie mask yet he wears no mask on the Alumni Habs team. The devs put a TON of work adding so many graphical items and jerseys into the game that I'd wager nobody asked for. This is why I find it so puzzling re: the absence of the vintage goalie masks. Please let us know why this is continually skipped over. Thank you very much! Cheers!
- 4 years ago@T2HD I'm still.holding out hope the add a patch or even for 23. If it doesn't come out for at least 23 them I'm done lol

That’s the one I used for Kamensky. It’s close enough

Real bummer this option wasn't added in the latest patch. With it being the most wanted request at the moment I thought there was a chance they'd actually add it. Ah well, hopefully in the next patch. Would love to create 70's rosters and share through roster sharing, but this option needs to be in for that to be satisfying.

I truly hope this is not the case, but I’ve been asking for the ability to make helmet-less players for years. I vaguely remember getting a response along the lines of the NHL doesn’t want any players represented without the proper equipment or some other legal mumbo jumbo. This leads me to believe that we may never get what we want.
However, and I don’t play EASHL or any other game modes so I’m not sure if this is the case or not, but I’m pretty sure I’ve read that you have the option of not wearing a helmet in some of those modes.
So, if that’s the case, and we’re making players for offline use only, then I don’t see why we can’t have the option.
- T2HD4 years agoRising Veteran@Efbomb I totally agree. I posted my last three year's worth of literally begging for helmetless players only to be disappointed every year. The Alumni teams are filled with helmetless players so there's no reason we can't create more helmetless players that aren't included with the game (Bobby Orr and Hull to name two). I'm not sure how anyone is getting hurt because they're not wearing a helmet within the virtual game. Sad to say it and I know it's a broken record, but no competition breeds this sort of thing. They don't have to add diddly doo because they're not competing against anyone else. Nothing lasts forever though in the business world without improvement and continued happy customers. Companies need to keep that in mind. Even if competition returns, they'll have lost what could have been loyal and repeat customers because of these and many other items that shouldn't be so tough to add. But, alas, I won't give up my eternal hope. Hello EA? Is anyone there? LOL

If only EA had not fixed the “no helmet” bug from 4 years ago.
If you didn’t know about it, basically all you had to do was add a shield to the old school JOFA helmet, save, then back out. When you started a game the player wasn’t wearing a helmet.
It was glorious! Then EA found out about it and took it away from us.
- 4 years ago@T2HD I gotta feeling we'll get it soon or even for NHL 23
