Follow-up and a Challenge to Cheesers, Exploiters, and even EA itself
I am back again with a follow-up to my previous post on the forum. I also posted it verbatim over on the Reddit forums. It has gotten a LOT of interest and discussion over there. However, I would not be surprised if EA and their Mods here are willfully ignoring it for two reasons.
1. It doesn't fit their narrative.
2. They won't discuss it in a forum where they are forced to confront the issues without the power to insta-ban someone who disagrees with them.
Hey, it's easy to hide out in a place where you can't be challenged intellectually and in open debate and discussion. Disagree with them? BOOM! Ban Hammer! Your opinions and takes don't matter to us! We only listen to those who pander to us... and then, we, in turn, pander to them. Lovely how the circle completes itself.
But I digress.
One of the main takeaways I keep hearing is that we, the players, need to PROVE the issues we are having with the gameplay and how it has drastically changed.
First, is that REALLY how EA wants its customers to interact with the product? Spend as much time taking video clips, posting about them, and uploading them to prove what EA already knows, but denies? Is that REALLY better than having a happy and engaged player base... you know... PLAYING the game and enjoying it? Interesting strategy there.
Second, why is it that WE, the players have to prove that you broke the game with your tuners? If you want to see how broken you made the gameplay, I have an idea for you. Load up the game and play some 6v6 Drop-Ins for a few hours. See how many times you cross paths with the exploiters and cheesers who abuse the mechanics and animations you "fixed."
You cater and pander to the non-skilled exploiters and cheesers who show off their "SiCk MoVeZz, bruh!" on their streams or whatever. It makes the game look laughably silly and makes the sport we LOVE look like a circus sideshow. The exploiters and cheesers who shout "Get gud, DuDe!" are the worst when it comes to realistic play and hockey IQ.
Alternately, you could watch some of your beloved streamers, influencers, and Game Changers (or whatever they are called) as they play the game. Watch how they use the SAME exploits and cheese shots, etc., over and over again. Ironically, I doubt many of the folks from EA actually WATCH the stuff they let influence the tuners. They just hear those exploiters and cheesers and influencers whine about the game being too hard now, how they can't stick handle all over the ice with zero repercussions, and make a behind-the-back between-the-legs backhand pass through three defenders for a cheese goal.
So here's the thing...
I am tired of being told that I, or even we, the players, have to PROVE that YOU broke the game with the tuners.
Let's put the shoe on the other foot here, EA, exploiters, cheesers, and the like. I challenge YOU to show me REAL NHL game footage that mimics the gameplay as it stands now. That should be easy, right? If it happens as much as it does in the game, the evidence should be plentiful. Thousands of hours of video of REAL NHL gameplay that matches what I will lay out below.
Show me footage of a player in the offensive end, even strength, ragging the puck around for over a minute while defenders can not bump him off the puck in any way, shape, or form. How often do we see this happen in REAL NHL games? Never. Players are lucky to have the puck on their stick for a few SECONDS consecutively, at most, at one time. Why? Because even the lowest skilled 4th liner can and will absolutely bump him off the puck.
Realistic physics make the game hard, though. Exploiters and cheesers NEED to exploit poorly implemented gameplay mechanics and animations to score cross crease cheese goals. Without that, they can't "have fun."
I dare ANYONE to show me footage of actual NHL players in REAL NHL games doing the garbage we see from the exploiters and cheesers.
Come on, all you exploiters and cheesers who think that's how REAL hockey is played, show me the video of NHL games where it happens as often it does in this game.
I dare you.
Hey cheesers and exploiters... prove ME wrong instead of insulting, name calling, and claiming the game plays just fine as an accurate simulation of REAL hockey.
Heck... EA... I dare YOU to show me videos of that in REAL NHL games. As much as it happens in their game, EA should be able to find and post LOTS of videos to prove me wrong.
Again, I dare you.
Or, you can remove my post and ban me.
I wonder which of the two is more likely to happen.
Prove me wrong.
I dare you.
I'll be waiting...
