Getting Dashboarded when hitting A to go from NHL 15 Intro to NHL 15 Main Menu

Things to know:

1. I have an Xbox One
2. I have a Digital copy of NHL 15, not a disc
3. I am an EA access member
4. I purchased NHL 15 before it was out for free on EA Access
5. I play Madden 15 and Fifa 15 both through Ea Access with no problems

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG!?

I've tried:

1. reinstalling
2. deleting and recovering my account
3. re syncing my account and game
4. unplugging my xbox
5. different internet connection

I'm out of ideas of what to do and I really want to play NHL right now... can anyone help me? I'm desperate
