How do I change my jersey number in Live the Life mode?

I try to change the number through "edit pro" and it is locked out. I see a "lock/unlock" option but it doesn't do anything when I press down r3. Any ideas or am I just stuck?

    Go to:
    Team News → Jersey Numbers → press (A/X) → select the # you want

    Did you ever find your answer? I am tired of having number 14. I have no idea how to change this, or even if it is possible.

    I believe that it's not possible once you have started your career or at least not when you're a rookie. If you're not that far into your career I'd suggest going to create pro from the new pro menu and changing the number there and starting a new one even though that isn't a fix it seems to be the only thing that works that I can find. I didn't even realise this was a thing until I read this but I looked and low and behold it was an actual problem.
