Losing connection when trying to join friend's invitation and vice versa

The title says it all. Every time I'm trying to invite one friend of mine to play with me (and vice versa), the connection is always lost and we can't play with each other. I've been able to play friendlies with another friend but for some reason, the connection problem is always there with the first one. Either the connection is lost or it says the invite failed/session can't be joined.

I'm on wireless connection, he's on wired. Our internet connections are generally stable, I have uPnP enabled and we're both NAT Type 2. What can we do to fix this? Any suggestions?

  • If you mean that does the other one have a PS4 version and the other one PS5, then no. We both have PS4 versions of the game.

It's possible this is NAT or IPv related. Can both of you go to the network settings screen on your consoles and let me know what it says for the NAT? I don't think the IPv is shown on PS4 though.

  • This is happening to me as well. We are both on old gen and can play head to head and solo battles but play a friend always disconnects before kickoff

What is the NAT for each of you? That can be checked by looking at the network settings on your consoles. Which NHL game are you playing?
