This is working as designed.
Don’t use your stars to hit if you don’t want them to fight.
Don’t charge into hits (glide). Even if it doesn’t trigger a charging penalty it may trigger a retaliation fight.
The second one there is the main thing, players used to previous games get in the habit of always going for a huge hit when they can, which obviously leads to fights. Trying to go for smaller checks with the intent of removing the puck rather than blowing someone up will avoid almost all forced fights.
This is very wrong and not true to the actual game in the NHL then.
Stars lay out big hits all the time and do not have to fight (and usually dont) if they don't want to.
They have the option to skate away, turtle, or get their own teammate/enforcer to stick up for them.
(If they don't know this, then they don't want NHL hockey)
Guys even stick up for teammates even from the bench.
Ex. Phil Kessel vs John Scott, and Clarkson left the bench to protect his star.
or
Ex. Paul Bissonette jumped in to protect his star the other game, cause the star didn't want to fight.
or
as per usual, they just turtle or skate away.
Next, it doesn't matter if they fight or not, the oppositions teammate starts the fight, so this should always result in an instigator penalty.
(again watch NHL hockey and this is always the right call)
I only deliever clean hits this is just a pain to see these fights and as well no instigator calls (time and time again, 3+ times a game)
Please fix this.
Thank you for listening.
P.S. While fixing this, can they also fix the glitch where fights happen and my player gets a "major for fighting" and the opponents fighter gets nothing.
This seems to only happen in the 3rd period, once a game. I've had times where say Pietrangelo gets a 5 minute major for fighting, and Joe Thornton who was also in the fight gets no penalty then scores 2 goals on a major powerplay.
I took pictures and it says in the stats only the major for fighting for my player and nothing for the opponents. This must be fixed.
