everytime I try to play right before the game is about to start it freezes my system single mode or online does it on both game modes. Now I have done a system update and I tried erasing and installing the game again and again nothing seems to work and it's really pissing me off that I can't play for it's the only game i like playing.

What happens if you only reinstall the latest update?
You would do this by going to the game section of the menu> going to "game data utility" > and deleting NHL 14.
Usually that fixes issues I have in Madden.
I have not started the game for a couple weeks. Yesterday and today I tried. I am able to edit my HUT team, make purchases etc. But whenever I try to start a match in HUT the system freezes. I tried re-installing the game (deleted ALL local NHL14 files, pforilse, settings etc.). The game reinstalls the update etc. but does not help at all. I even reset my PS3 system settings - no help. Freezes everytime I try to start a match.
I had similar issues in NHL13 with the career mode. These similar issues seem to be a very persisting and reoccuring problems in the NHL series...
