- Anonymous10 years agoComplete waste of money. I'm done with EA, you guys have clearly given up. This buggy glitchy garbage is a joke. I've heard all of the same complaints from everyone I know that plays this game so I'm not alone. You guys should be ashamed for realeasing such a joke of a game. Bye bye EA thanks for wasting my money

NHL 16 is full of bugs. But they make the only NHL games for next gen. But hopefully EA will redeem themselves with NHL 17. When NHL 17 comes out I suggest you watch some videos on it before buying it. @wes7coa5texpr3ss
You know they said the same thing about NHL 15, "They'll fix this game for NHL 16"

Honestly, I disagree about the gameplay being awful. I've been playing hockey games for as long as I can remember (I'm over 30 y/o btw, so not a young kid or anything), and while I always enjoyed and preferred the 2k series back in the day, I had no choice but to switch to EA once 2k stopped making NHL games. I don't exactly recall when that was; perhaps 2k5 or 2k6 was the last one from that series, right? Regardless, been playing every year of EA nhl since, and some have definitely been better than others.
I'm playing on PS4 now, for the first year as I just bought the system last October (2015). I personally feel NHL 16 is one of the best hockey games to come out. Please don't take that to mean I think it's perfect or even near flawless. Yes, there are glitches - especially with online play, something I avoided entirely on PS3 after the one year I did utilize it and just got too annoyed.
Still, there's no such thing as a perfect game, period, so I think a lot of people expect far too much and are thusly disappointed when they don't get what feels or plays like a flawless game. Again, though, I'm NOT saying EA is somehow innocent when it comes to making promises they don't keep, or from failing to listen to us, the fans and consumers, about what should be added/changed/etc. The company should do a better job at this stuff; yet, all the while, I think a good deal of the complaints about NHL 16 (new gen version; no idea what the PS3/X-Box One versions are like) are unfounded.

I agree 100%. Too many of the same glitches. The poke check is broken. Players can't be touched at all if you manipulate the garbage dekes/ keep aways. They don't have duration cards in HUT. ICE TILT DOES EXIST! No matter how often they claim it doesn't pay attention to how your passes miss and are directed toward the wrong player; you miss a wide open net; you take more penalties; your ai goes full * in games that are clutch for winning a division title or playoff championship. This only started happening a few titles ago. Lag still existed on the previous ones that didn't have ice tilt. EA Sports calls it momentum. I call it a scam so you purchase packs to get a better team.
The game mechanics online are so ridiculous now I refuse to ever just buy the games. I'll rent first and never play again if I ever have to deal with players looking like they're in squirt house teams as opposed to the NHL caliber they are supposed to be. The defense for crying out loud takes the shooter, and never the pass!!!!
Take Be A Pro for example. The experience system in that mode is the worst I have ever had the displeasure of trying. The fact that you take bad line defense everytime your ai defense opens up a cross crease shooting lane as a sniper forward is absolutely maddening.
In HUT you buy a gold rare special pack that consists of ONLY rare players and you get 82 overall rated players is a scam. I read someone on a previous thread say he spent $500 on hut packs and only had 3 elite caliber players. One of them was a regular Drew Doughty! They have training cards to increase your players stats and don't have duration cards so those stat boosts only last 1 game! These are some of the cards you get while opening a $10 card pack!
So I have decided to rent the next game. If I don't like the game mechanics or critical things that destroy my enjoyment of the game, I'm done with hockey games for the year.

Well I don't know where to begin. Matbe it should be the fact that when you go to drop in if you don't pause in time you glitch out. Maybe we should start with the fact that you try to pass the puck close to the boards the puck gets stuck like you put your stick through the bords. how about the random passing to nowhere. The best way to play goalie on longer shots is to be out of the net sometimes because you can't even hit an open net. How about the fact that I can't remeber an update to try to fix any issue.
Bottom line EA Sports has cornered the market and they know people will play there crappy games just to play. They used to put out much better products all around. I guess gameplay getting better with each new system left the behind creatively. people pay way more for games and overall I would rate the sega versions of the game higher in many aspects of the game. seriously how much did they pay you to write this *!
Oh well it is back to hockey just so i didn't completly waste my money. Don't spend it all in one place. Oh wait I hope they didn't give pucks for this...
