10 years agoSame for me, I'm use to play in division 1 HUT but in nhl 16 the game is too slow + input lag. It's totally disgusting and moreover I like to play Be a Pro and it's also glitched (auto 20 min periods).
When will they fix that ? When I pay 70€ for a game, especially for a game that is quite the same every year I expect it to be playable online ...
- 10 years agoHi guys, here are our last results with out tests.
We brought 3 PS4 to a guy on fiber and we invited each others. Here are the outcomes:
- we were all wired to the same router (d-link, fresh out of the box) and we logged all sessions/traffic. We have no other downloads, no wireless, ping to google dns 8.8.8.8 is under 20ms to give you an idea.
- we invited each others in a game, the first 5 games were horrible like its normally with nhl16 since it's release. Slow, laggy and input lag.
- on the 6 game, nothing has changed on our network, speed was nice and we were all surprised and enjoy our game
- on that 6 game, we reviewed the logs and couldnt find any differences. Server initiate from same servers/port range
- we tries 3 other games, slow again
- we all went online to play against somebody else, not against each others and one of us had a good speed. So we compared and we were able to see that the guy on the other end had no microphone icons, you know the one to mute him. So we thought it could be the problem. We all disable our microphones, try against each others and still slow. Went online for about 10 games, still slow and couldnt get another descent speed
- we went to another location with cable and same thing, only 1 out of 10 game was faster. Do our question mark is what is different in that 1 game.
Things we know for a fact :
- its not our ps4, we all have the same issues
- its not our routers, we tries many
- its not wires, we tried multiples
- its not ISP, we tried many
- All other online games work fine
- its not time of the day, we played early or late, same thing
At this point, everythibg leads to EA's server. It might not be direct media path once game is initiated and packets are likely fowardes to EA switches/routers/servers and its probably one of their metaswitch that is the issue. We did all the test for them already, I am really frustrated that EA is not responding.
Since we had few games that ran fine (average 1 out of 15), there is hope for us that EA can find the problem, but if you want my opinion, they are aware of the issue as they don't reply and they probably just can't deal with the load on their switches. A patch won't fix a thing as like I said, it works fine 1 out of 15 games, so it's a network issue, likely a metaswitch.
