NHL 20? There’s more wrong than right with this game.

NHL 20 is full of issues. You’ve completely broken CPU players, they’re garbage now and I’d rather have pylons for teammates. The game freezes between periods in EASHL so we have no option but to quit and take a loss on our record. When I score a goal, no matter what position I’m playing it says I’m a centre on the graphic. When I’m playing goalie, you’ve completely broken that too. Why does my goalie sweep the puck into the net after making a save? Oh yeah, because you don’t know how to make a video game. NHL 20 is the worst NHL you’ve ever made and it only took 4 hours of my trial to find all these bugs, which is proof you didn’t even test it. If you’re not gonna put in even $8 worth of effort, why should I spend $80 on it? Well I won’t be, and I know a lot of people who feel the same way. This game may just be the death sentence to the NHL franchise.  I haven’t bought a copy of NHL since NHL 17, and this year will be no different.  Laziness is no way to hold onto customers, you’ve recycled the game once again and added a few bugs because you don’t have the first clue what you’re doing when it comes to hockey or when it comes to making a fully functional video game.

  • Ah I remember when I was like this (probably why i'll never be a Hero); it's easier if you just accept the shortcomings and use them to your advantage.

'20 is all about speed so it makes sense you blow past them - everyone wanted this and the team finally delivered.

All the HUT games I played in the trial ohh man the AI defence is so much better; sure they're not perfect, but this is leaps and bounds better than 19 was (you missed out on some pretty crazy happenings in 18 and 19, my friend).

Yup, I noticed I was a centre as well, I'm hoping that'll be in the day 1 patch or soon after.

Goalies have been making people panic for years now; they just want to put the puck in its home like the rest of us - at least the defensemen aren't trying to wrap around their own team this year. It seems this year the goalie's new weak spot is stick side so just backhand it at the goalie and pray he puts it in himself.

Trust me when I say 20 is an improvement over previous titles - as they say: every bit helps. Gameshare with a friend or go on twitter for the insane amount of free game giveaways they do if you don't want to pay the full amount; I know tons of people who find a way.

  • It’s not about blowing past the CPU, it’s about the fact when they’re on your team in EASHL they’re a turnover machine, they don’t pass the puck, basically they have zero intelligence or awareness on the ice.

You pretty much summed it up yourself, they make changes based on what people want in HUT, they don’t care about other game modes.  Personally, I don’t enjoy HUT, and I know other people who don’t enjoy it as well.  It’s a cash grab, it’s pay to win, and EA devote 100% of their resources to it because with their sales declining every year, micro-transactions are what keep them in business, and they care more about money than their customer base.

Well listen up EA, if you wanna make more money off of NHL, start listening to the rest of us, then maybe we’ll buy the game again.  You manage it with FIFA, that’s still a game I buy every year and it’s a fantastic game, so why can’t you do it with NHL?  Your NHL team is your company’s weakness, so pull it together.  Maybe it would help if you released a new game every 2-3 years instead of annually.

I hear ya - my main focus is EASHL amd it definitely plays worse than HUT. One of the devs on the main forums said EASHL is the casual league so they want to make it fun (read: easy) for everyone.

I absolutely despise microtransactions but still try to get them put back into EASHL so they'd put a little more effort into the mode. I'd pay 5 dollars on my personal character but not for packs with a 1% chance of something that will be obsolete in a week.

You just need to focus on D the best you can - rushes are easy. Learn the cheesers right away so you know how to counter em; I don't know hoe many top 10 teams mine has destroyed because they literally don't know how to do anything else.

EA just needs some competition to make the game the best it can be; the foundation is already there
