There are more people in North America purchasing Madden than Europeans buying NHL, though.
And if you add up the number of people in Europe, America and the rest of the world who love hockey? This number will obviously be higher.
It's worth mentioning that having the game on Gamepass for PC would likely also help grow the fanbase of the sport and series.

Game was released for free a week or two back in EA Access and population is just as bad, if not worse now - Saw a bunch of teams in my recently played tab marked as disbanded lol.
You might be able to pull off something like gamepass at the start of the year when the regulars are ramped up and ready to play, but the whole system is kind of only monetarily viable for smaller, more niche properties - If EA is already concerned about profit margins for a PC port at $~100, that's even more they'd need to make up in HUT- @TTZ_Dipsy Thats kind of ridiculous to think people should spend 300 bucks on outdated hardware. People who want PC ports dont waste their money on consoles

I get your point, but some of us love the ease of use with consoles. There's also the avoidance of people using mods and hacks. As far as outdated hardware goes, the new consoles are getting closer to high end PCs. Personally, the difference in graphics isn't a big deal at all. My days of tinkering with PCs are behind me. I just want games to play great and look good. Consoles are a perfect fit for that. I definitely get not everyone feels the same. PC players want the highest performance possible. Should the day come when the move to a PC version makes all the work that goes into that worth it, chances are good it'll happen.
- @TTZ_Dipsy Most of the people who want it on PC want it there because they specifically do not have a console. I still think the gamepass cloud/streaming route is probably their best option right now if they don't want to invest in a full port.
