Player disappeared in Franchise Mode

Recently started a new Franchise Mode with Philadelphia Flyers, got trough the first 2 seasons with no problems, until the 2023 NHL Draft. I was in a big need for a center, so I traded my 2nd pick and stuff for Minnesota Wild's 1st overall pick to select Connor Bedard. No problems and I simulated the rest of the draft and then till the contract extensions. I extended some contracts and gave all of the RFA's the RFA offer and signed Bedard. Then in free agency I made a few new signings to the team, stayed within the salary cap all the time of course. 

After I was done with my signings, I simulated to the preseason, went to see the roster and the problem was revealed. Connor Bedard had disappeared. I looked through my NHL and AHL rosters, nothing. I went trough all the contracts, including the unsigned players, not there. Finally I used the search a player option, typed in first his full name, then his first name and then his last name only, nothing, Then I just searched for every possible player and went trough the first 100 players with the highest trade value and nothing. Absolutely nothing, there is no sign of Connor Bedard to ever exist in this save and anything I tried so far did not help. Am I just stupid or what is going on??
