Players stop skating after receiving a pass

I have an issue with my NHL19. I bought my new PS4 last week which included a new controller and NHL19 in the bundle. So all is brand new. I started playing some single games to practice. Then I started a franchise mode with a fantasy draft. I played around 12 games and until then everything worked perfectly. Yesterday, for the first time I started having an issue. When I pass the puck to a player, this player can't move or skate. I can only pass the puck or shoot with that player. First I thought my left trigger was broken but after a few verifications, that is not the case. I fully charged the controller, restarted my PS4 and then a started a new game. The problem continues. It doesn't happen consistently but randomly throughout the game but more often when there are 10 minutes or less left in the third period. Most of the time, I cannot finish the game. It is very frustrating. If I can't fix that problem I will try to return the entire bundle to the store. I bought this PS4 only because I am a big fan of the NHL games.

Does anyone else have the same issue?  What can I do to fix it?

While in game play, after receiving a pass my player will freeze and I am unable to pass or move for a few seconds but the game remains in play. I originally thought something might be wrong with my controller’s joystick but it was proven to be working just fine in other games/ apps.

NHL 19 - my defenseman cannot skate with the puck - can only pass or shoot. 1.03 version didn’t fix this issue!!
    Suggestion EA???
  • I am having the same issue, but only on a wireless controller. My wired controller works fine.

  • I only just got the game so this is maybe a well known issue.

When I change direction while skating my player stops completely.  I have to let go of the left analogue stick and then press the direction again to get him to move. I've noticed also that sometimes even if I can keep my player moving that they go the wrong direction. The last game I played before I came on here I was trying to move the player down the screen but they would only go left.

On other occasions the player just goes extremely slow. Looks like he's treading water. It happens every shift and it makes the game nearly unplayable.

I never had the issue with previous NHL games. I've tried different controllers and different games but it only happens in NHL 19.

Also I have reinstalled the game and changed the version I'm playing.

Am I missing something obvious? Thanks to anyone who can help

    It's more like GamePlay.
For me, the problems occur from level professional to HUT challenge.

It's more because you think you have bad players and you have to buy new players.
    (Market economy)

In this video you can see how the CPU opponent beats his racket through the legs of my player to get to the puck? Chaeting!
Do I get something like 2 minutes, because of leg ask.
The CPU player even beats his bat through the legs of the keepers and goal posts, which led to the goal.
EA SPORTS IS THE PROBLEM KNOWN 12 WEEKS
