Question about Gamestop pre order bonuses

I was just wondering if anyone knows anything or has heard anything about their hometown hero pack? Also, I read that there is an NHL TV bonus apparently if you pre ordered the game. I havent received any code when I was finally able to pick up my NHL game on the 11th from Gamestop due to an apparent shipping error. Funny how its advertised that you can play the game early, but then they cant even get the game to the store on time. There was also an issue when I picked up the game with the deluxe bundle causing the store to give me a $20 psn card so that I can get my packs. 🤔 Gamestop and EA need to get on the same page...

https://www.ea.com/games/nhl/nhl-20/nhl-20-game-and-offer-disclaimers that page has the NHL TV info on it

    If you purchased through Gamestop I'm fairly sure it's their responsibility to ensure you have those codes. Codes should be supplied to them a long time in advance and either be supplied via slip of paper in/on the box or on your receipt.

    An EA Advisor *should* be able to add packs to your account but it can be quite the process proving your codes didn't work/you didn't get them.

    The thing is, it would be a lot of work for a Gamestop employee to either find more codes or call someone up and start a whole email back and forth; the EA Agents here are sort of your 'Jack of all Trades" types and, while they technically have the power to grant certain things in-game, they really can't be doing that unless they reaaallllyyy have to. They are both technically correct in forwarding you to the other person because they're both stuck in a weird grey area - someone, eventually, should have the permission to grant you what you deserve, you just need to dig a little deeper, unfortunately.

  • Weird question but I have to ask it.. did you go to an actual Gamestop or an EB Games? EB most likely won't honor those promotions. Also, it could have just been select stores that offered the 1 month TV bonus; I'd double check if your local store is on the list

    Anyhoo, Gamestop is notorious for fudging up pre-order bonuses and it looks like you'll need to phone them up if your bonus codes aren't on your receipt

  • Yes, I went to an actual Gamestop store. Contacted EA, they refer me to NHL, NHL tells me to call Gamestop...Gamestop tells me to call NHL. Nobody seems to know whats going on so I guess I will keep calling until I get someone who is able to help. Terrible customer service these days...

    @anthonywhat

    We hope GameStop was able to provide you a replacement code for your pre-order bonus. If you purchased the Ultimate or Deluxe Edition from a third party retailer (non-digital through Xbox/PlayStation), the will need to verify the transaction and provide a replacement code. We apologize if there was any confusion on where to go to get this handled.

    Hope to see you on the ice soon.
