I have 2 cases up for this. One is under 20100721 and the other is under 20110413.
I've opened all ports, had my ISP install a new modem. Opened ports again, put XBO in DMZ, hard wired, wireless.. Created a Static IP for my XBO among all these things.. Still lag during EASHL, and oddly, NOT in drop in.
One of those cases has gone to the special cases department. All he could tell me was that I needed to open ports.
It 100% has to do with EA's servers or how they receive the connections. I have read that EASHL has it's own dedicated servers, where as HUT is a totally different connection type.
The agent has told me that it's been marked and sent in for review by developers in order to find a fix. Who knows how long that will take. I may honestly trade this game in before then.
