Re: EA Sports: Ice Tilt It's in the Game

oh what to do about ice tilt! call it what you want to call it but lets face it, any hard core hockey gamer can clearly see there is something going on behind the scene's here. my club is a top 100 club dipping in and out of top ten and i am in div 1 for hut. you can only imagine the things we have seen in our club. im taking about hut though. i honestly have no idea how this shifty momentum works or what triggers it exactly but i have seen it over and over. i almost feel like in some games that matter i have to score more than three goals no matter what my golie is rated. almost a very scripted feeling to the game. my point is we spend money on these packs to give us better players or spend pucks to get consumables to give us better stats but if we end up playing a weaker player in a lower division this so called ice tilt over rides everything and puts your team in mud. this is called thieft ea! why are we paying you to skate at a disavantage? now even though this ice tilt does exsist in the game i do believe you always have a chance to win. (barely) im ok with you putting it in but how you have coded it in is all wrong. please make an attempt at fixing these almost impossible games where the player your playing barely knows how to pass wins. now anybody that wants to argue please only reply if you are a top player. if you are not you will have no idea what i am talking about. ea i feel it would be a wise choice on your guys part to admit to this so the people that want to gamble online playing hockey dont have to worry about some ice tilt taking there money. now it seems there is a huge confusion over this ice tilt so all we are asking is for you guys to explain your self. you owe it to your fans who buy your game year after year. you do not want the physcological affects that wil happen to children on your hands because of this game. imagine working so hard to become great at something putting in time and money to be the best but you get robbed because you are winning to much. i can only imagine the catasrophic effects that will happen from this. please ea you are better than this.

Really good statement. Fully agree. It gets quite frustrating when uve put over 1500 games in, and you get beat by a person who doesnt know **bleep**. But just a heads up, EA is a **bleep** of a company and is all about profiteering and not worrying about their games' end result. I dont think they'll ever do anything for the fans. Its been how long now ppl have been talking about server switches cus ea servers are trash. And so is ea answers.com useless...

@Acjakes19 made some really good points actually as opposed to the standard "OMG ice tilt cause he beat me and I got more shots!!111eleven"

Let me fill you in on a little tidbit of info boys. THATS HOCKEY.

On any given night, a team like the Preds can go out and beat the Pens. Is that ice tilt? No, that's just how the game turns out sometimes. Also, it's a little laughable to say that 'it's the games fault that I lost' when you're controlling the game. I believe the game is flawed as much as anyone else, but ultimately, you can usually control whether you win or lose.

I think the reason that most people believe in ice tilt is because for them, it happens near the end of the game and they feel cheated because they can't poke any pucks, get possession, or take bad penalties. Did you ever consider that you might play differently when you're trying to hold onto a lead as opposed to trying to take it? You keep thinking about getting ice tilted and then it actually happens.

Put ice tilt out of your mind when you play and see how it goes. See ya out on the ice boys!

Oh, and on a side note, nobody cares if you're a top skater or not. Prove it and then maybe I'll acknowledge it further.

I appreciate acknowledging that I made some good points. But, I don't appreciate your arrogant attitude towards me or the rest of the people commenting on this topic. My intentions are not to be rude or argue with you. I simply want to set things straight because, you seem to have misunderstood my earlier post.

Okay. So, I understand how hockey works in real life. I'm sure most of the people commenting do as well. But, that has nothing to do with my comment. Of course the best team doesn't always win but, the team that plays the best during that game or if the lesser team at least competes with the better team and gets a lucky bounce it can result in a "underdog" victory. I'm sure you understand what underdog means, judging by you educating all of us on how hockey works which showed you have some extensive knowledge about the sport. Haha, I tease.

Anyways, we (I think most will agree although I can't speak for you all) aren't talking about slightly less talented teams vs more talented teams. As is the NHL. I personally believe that of all major North American pro sports, hockey is by far the most competitive from top to bottom. So yes you will see that in real life because the underdogs are still very talented professional athletes! Answer me this, please... If the Boston Bruins played a mediocre Division 2 college team 10 times, how many times would the Bruins win out of those 10? I'll give you a minute to make a decision.....

    Times up.

I would bet a lot of money they would win, every time. I even think it would be quite easy every time. So when I discuss the ice tilt that is what I am referring to. I have lost in the past to less talented, but still skilled guys. I am aware when I get out played by a decent player and will admit it. But I, and I'm sure others discussing this topic, are frustrated when a team, (I.e. The D-2 school) who doesn't belong on the ice with me (Bruins) is the benefit of an ice tilt. I agree, talent vs talent can be a toss up any day of the week. But complete garbage vs talent winning because of cpu manipulation is a joke.

So please, don't approach me with your condescending, righteous attitude without fully understanding my point just for the sake of an argument and to feel good about yourself.

Also, I wasn't talking myself up to look "cool" or be cocky. I was simply making readers aware that I'm not just some bush league joke of a player. I never said I was better than you or anyone commenting. All I said was I am a good player. Which is my opinion and I'm entitled to say. I do apologize if what I said upset you. Or if you somehow feel threatened by what I said. It seems like it made you uncomfortable enough that you felt the need to throw a jab and then try and challenge me. I also did not realize that you were the Judge of talent. But if that's the case I will make sure and recommend you to everyone before they claim to be good. Then you can scout them, decide, and tell them how to describe their level of play That way you won't run into any more misunderstandings like we had.

Well, good talk, glad we got to the bottom of this, Coach. Let me know when you are holding combines so i can get evaluated by you. Really looking forward to finally knowing where i stand in the eyes of someone as great as you.

The reason I acknowledged your comment is because yours was the only legitimate argument for ice tilt.

I'm not trying to act like I'm better than anyone. I was simply stating that a small majority of the NHL community believes that ice tilt exists. As well as the fact that I personally don't think it exists and it's just a matter of lucky bounces, not the conspiracy that you, and many other make it out to be.

I've had my fair share of BS losses as I'm sure many of you have but damn, sometimes you just need to take responsibility and move on. Just say "I'll try my hardest to win the next game" and move the hell on. Not commenting on a forums, which in retrospect and all honesty, will accomplish nothing.

Oh, and that last comment wasn't directed towards you to be completely honest. It was to the kid above me who didn't have anything to share but the fact that he was a top skater. The fact that you added it in not for effect but to make people understand that you aren't garbage makes sense. I apologize if you took offense.

As for my 'righteous attitude'.. it wasn't meant to come off that way. Again, I apologize if it did.

Keep plugging away and I'll see ya on the ice buddy!

I understand what you are saying. You don't need to apologize. But if that's all you were attempting to say then you should have said it that way in your first post. I became slightly aggressive simply because of the way you attempted to say we were all wrong and you were right.

I truly do believe though that you are quite hypocritical and not quite sure if you actually read what I wrote or just skimmed it and couldn't wait any longer to see yourself talk or in this sense, type. So what if only a certain percentage of us feel that way? Does that mean it doesn't exist? And believe me, as I've stated before, I am not one for "conspiracy theories" I formed knowledgeable and education opinions based of facts, experiences and other information.

But again, you attempt to give a coaching lesson by telling people how they should handle a loss. If you read my post I made it clear that I will admit when I get beat, no problem. I apologize if I didn't go into more specific detail on what I tell myself afterwards. That's part of the hypocrisy I mentioned. The other part is right before you coaching lesson you saying nay rather than go post comments..... I am not one for posting comments ever. I just felt the need to share my two cents. Honestly to me, worst than posting comments is adding onto things just to debate and tell people they are wrong. If you think this is false and talking to each other about it is dumb. Why join the conversation? Or why make all the other comments to other topics that it shows you have?

Telling me to act a certain way after a loss? Take your own advice. You got made to look like a fool by me and then you used this passive aggressive attitude to try and convince yourself that you didn't look dumb trying to call me and the other kid out. In the end you just made yourself look like even more of a fool.

So please do me a favor, learn how to debate. You're the coach, you should be able to figure that out pretty quickly.

Dude, who the hell do you think you are? A college professor? I'm here to tell you that you're wrong and not to debate you, you worthless muppet.

I'm telling you that ice tilt DOES NOT EXIST. You claim you have facts? For something to be factual, it has to be indisputable. Now, show me legitimate proof and I will believe you. Otherwise, crawl back under the rock that your mother birthed you beneath.

You've wasted enough of my time, man. Someone in your life must put you down a whole lot for you to want to write that much trying to make look like a fool. May I emphasize the word trying? All you proved was that you have too much time on your hands.

    See ya, chump.

No, I am not a college professor but, I do take that as a compliment. Thank you. The total 15 minutes I've spent on these comments means I have too much time on my hands? Yet again you become hypocritical and contradict yourself countless times. Who do I think I am? You're the one telling me and the others that we are wrong with nothing to back it up rather than some dumb coaching advice. Your ignorance exhausts me and your comments are so invalid because you're just trying to say anything to try and be correct.

I apologize to the rest of the people involved in this topic for taking up space dealing with Mr. "Your wrong I'm right. Why? Cause I said so." If anyone needs an absolute answer please ask @jonesyytheworst. He is the end all be all of NHL knowledge. Or he just tells people their wrong cause he's upset that someone embarrassed his fragile, false ego.
