Re: Ping is between 6 an 8 ms but always lag

@99manfrottin66

From the tests they have provided, there's no evidence that the issue is on our end. There are different variables that can cause input delay. It can be your equipment, which is comprised of a modem, router, console, TV, controller, cords, etc. There's the connection itself. This is provided by your ISP. There's all the servers your data passes through as well. There of course are our servers and the game. So far, I'm not seeing anything that points to the issue being on our end. If that were the case, only our server would be showing problems. Since I'm seeing high pings before our servers are hit, it's not on our end.

    I agree the clips look like there is a very small amount of lag, but I'm not seeing any evidence that it's coming from something in our control. However, everyone is different. We need to go through individual troubleshooting to investigate connection issues.

  • It’s funny when we have issues with online the first thing you make us do is run a uo trace to easo.ea.com and when it comes up with packet loss on the last hops and even high pings u guys say it not on your end and it’s not even our nhl servers so what’s the point on testing easo.com if it’s not even the nhl online servers ? Can you explain.. how is our internet providers supposed to fix a path to your servers if easo.ea.com are not even it ? And when asked for the servers so we can ping or do a uo trace it’s not allowed

    If there's only issues with our servers in the trace every time, that's probably something on our end. However, as is the case in most of the tests we see, the issue starts before our servers with high ping times and packet loss. That's why I'm saying the issue is with the ISP.

  • Not true the one I shared on here still not being looked at your end .. as you see it’s the last hops are showing high pings and packet loss ..then u send me to ea.helps with no help at all aren’t the last 3 hops on the ea end ? 159

    You also had other tests showing the issue occurring before that server. Which indicates your connection is fluctuating a lot. There also are servers not allowing pings so we can't confirm that there's no packet loss there. If you want to run them again, you're more than welcome to. Make sure you send 100 packets this time.

    At this point, we have been through extensive troubleshooting. There is absolutely nothing else I can do to help. If you want to continue troubleshooting this, you'll need to contact an advisor through phone, chat Twitter, or Facebook channels.

  • Feel a need to bounce this. Probably  mentioned most of this before...

    We were five persons in my team. All of us usally had 2(!?!)-8ms on our ping graph, but in some games we were aeons behind.

    This delay could manifest from first puck drop or midgame. Sometimes, first half of the game we could all skate and handle the puck and then all of a sudden we lost our speed, the ability to pass, the ability to shoot, the abilty to hit and the ability to intercept. The ping graph, at the end of the game, was still flatlined at ~7ms.

    My teammates have all quit the game, a couple of them have been playing since the 90's.

    Btw, many of the drop-in games I've played with 100-180ms ping felt more responsive than most of the club games with excellent ping.

    Also, the delay can vary between games in the same session; one game is awful, the next two are fine, then a couple of awful etc. This tells me it is not a problem with my setup.

    Also, this has been the same for the last several years.

    @dexieland I agree with you, and it's exactly as you write, because I have exactly the same problem ..

    @dexielandWe play OTS as a team too since 2009. Same here … Ping is stable around 6-10 ms but games are totally different. We played Friday evening/night. The first two games were terribel. We played the same team 4 times, the first two we had no chance cause all was totally delayed, after that we won all games and the game was smoth … we had different players that are captain (game host?) so we all have the same connection problems? Stupid … we locatet in total different locations in Germany and Austria … from the north, east, middle and west in germany till two players in the east of austria. Total * what the Community manager says … the servers are the problom and nothing else.

    On Thursday, I played a game in HUT against a player from Poland (I think, the team name sounded Polish), it played absolutely terrible and I lost in OT. An hour later I played the same player again, the game felt completely different, I scored 5 goals in the first period and he quit. One of the major problems is that every game plays differently and you always have to adjust to the connection, not your opponent. Today was no exeception as I finished my HUT Champions games. One of the games I lost was against someone who had two lines of base players and was just circling in the corner all the time, I couldn't catch him because my players felt so slow. The puck was bouncing all over the ice as well (like in a pinball machine), there was no puck control. It's just so frustrating.
