Re: Server locations (Europe)

I'd also like to know that because i have a weird thing going on. If i host/captain a club in CHEL i can find games with good connection in Europe easily,but as soon as i go into drop in and i'm hosting i can't find any European games at all. I'm sitting in drop in lobby and wait 3h (between peek hours like 7-10PM) and the only thing it can find is fair connections with North America. And i'm located in Northern Europe. And none of my friends have that issue with drop in (and we live in countries next to each other). In other Online modes it's fine. This been going on for months now. (since NHL 20).

    Hi there, @aigarins.

    I'm assuming you have your club's location set to Europe? That would be why you're finding games against other European clubs. When you play on a fair connection, are you experiencing a lot of lag still?

    Hi, Aljo,

    I do not play on fair connection, since there's an input lag/response of around 2 seconds,which makes it unplayable.

    Yes,my club is set in Europe (since i am located there) ,the only thing is that i can't find any drop in games at all (in neither 3v3 or 6v6) in Europe (always have set best location to Yes).

    If i put best location to relaxed it just matches with North America, fair and poor connections respectively,thus i do not play them at all. I do not have this issue in club games at all.

    I was thinking that maybe there are only few people playing drop in in Europe,but my friends say that they have no issue finding drop in in Europe at all.

    You mentioned this happens when you host games. If a friend hosts instead, does it still occur?

    @EA_Aljo

    If a friend hosts drop in game,we have no issues,but when i'm hosting and am alone in the drop in lobby - always "Failed to search for opponent". (and as i mentioned above hosting club games for me is not an issue)

    @EA_Aljo

    That's not possible since my Xbox is connected directly with modem through cable (i do not use router here).

    Can you contact your ISP to see if they can open those ports for you?

    @EA_Aljo

    The only option i have is to connect to modem myself and see if there's an option to do so.

    I'll check it and will reply afterwards

    Well, those port settings were already there (as suggested in the link you gave), so that can't be the issue.

    I also tried connecting xbox through my mobile phone provider (no worries, i have unlimited data) and the result is the same - club games can be find instantly, for all drop in with best location set to yes - "failed to find opponent".

    @aigarins

    Are you saying those ports were opened without you opening them?

    Possibly using alternate DNS servers will help. From the Xbox One home screen, go to Settings > Network > Advanced settings > DNS settings > Manual. (If Settings doesn't appear on the home screen, select My Games & Apps, then Settings). From there, enter the Primary DNS as "208.67.222.222" and the Secondary DNS as "208.67.220.220". If that doesn't help, try using the google DNS servers which are: primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.

    2 Of the TCP ports were set already,yes,i needed to add only one myself.

    I've tried these DNS servers before,they actually make the connection worse ☹️

    Thanks for the details. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything else to suggest. It might help to get a router so you have more control over your connection. Something seems to be preventing you from finding opponents. We're not aware of any issues with the game or servers that would cause this to happen.
