If you're using the easo.ea.com address, that should be going to a US server so I don't know why you're being routed to Dublin.
@EA_AljoWell I've really been trying to actually figure it out so I have found out the IP address that I connect to when loading the game up. If for any reason you want to talk in PM's let me know
Edit: here is Easo.ea.com... now this one shows up as Electronic Arts like it should.
The other one I posted comes up as ea Ireland.
Edit 2: Clearing that data stuff is only temporary. Doesnt stop this routing occurring. Its weird that both Shaw and Bell are getting this issue for me. Like I said I guess only thing that would be able to change this is if I can get routed to the NA server, hopefully Bell can do something about this. I know some people talk about some list they get put on or something. But then again, I bought XSX at christmas in 2020 and it was happening on my Xbox one, it was happening with Shaw, I changed from Shaw, still happening. I use a different profile so Im pretty confused about this. I know some people have been DDOS'd in a way that their xbox or network was appearing to be in like Australia or something. I feel like thats happening to me but I just dont see how its staying with me from provider to provider from xbox to xbox.

Thanks for these details. The easo.ea.com address was used as a test server for trace routes. It's not one NHL is played on. Where are you located? I'll pass on your report and respond when I have some new information. Appreciate the feedback here 🙂

What time did you run these tests?
@EA_AljoI am located in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I ran these tests in the evening hours yesterday. I am the same person you have been talking to before the original poster
Yes the easo.ea.com one looks normal but I have used a program that tracks the IP addresses I send data to and used it while loading up chel so to be clear this is the IP address I ping when I load into the menus not when I am in a game. This is where my traffic gets sent to Europe. This has to be what's causing my input delay.Edit: I'd like to add that this isn't just skating in mud but this also affects my AI. Late reactions for puck pickups, positioning they also can't get up to speed. Also affects when I'm playing as goalie the reaction for the save animations are late in EASHL
@EA_AljoIt would be nice to get other people to check what IP they are pinging so I can figure out if I'm indeed getting a different IP address than everybody else or if it's the route it takes. I start getting high pings in my trace route after it leaves my ISPs network. Once it goes through zayo then it hits high. Something that's happening there may be affecting it to get misdirected through UK then to 159.153.228.21 which I don't know for sure is EA Ireland or if it's Redwood California. Probably is Ireland. Should make more hops if it was back in the US. That long hostname the 3rd hop from the bottom is the UK one it's part of Zayo. Is this Zayo network one that EA uses? Is there other networks that are used to route traffic to the proper EA server? Everybody I ask while playing chel either thinks it's too much to do or just doesn't care. So I need to ask on here I've seen some guys already go through the trace routes so all I need them to do is see what IP they are connecting to and trace to that 1. It would definitely help narrow this issue down.
Edit :if you look at these pictures they are from the LG website for nhl 15. They had captain lag they called it. This looks similar to what I get. Except this is every game regardless of being captain or not. Third IP from bottom is from UK and now when I look up that 159.153.20.7 it comes up as Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands. That's the server I was pinging in like 20 or 21 or something.
It looks the same after it leaves their ISP the high ping starts there it starts in level3 mine starts in zayo. After blocking a certain IP address they would have it better. I'm not sure which one they were blocking but when I block the ones that I connect to I can't connect at all it keeps trying to connect to the same server

Are you using a VPN by chance?
- @EA_Aljo I am not. I have tried to see if it worked but doesn't help. It's not just chel either I've connected to Europe servers in warzone and Xbox live itself. I should contact my provider then right

Yes. Try contacting your ISP. There could be an issue with how your connection is being routed.
@EA_AljoSometimes Im not sure what it is.. lol. Doing that clear mac address sometimes helps. Theres one thing that I felt that helped was changing the port on the xbox to the highest port all the way at the bottom. Could it be something to do with those ports?
I apparently have some packet loss too I looked on ping plotter showed up to 80% could just be a glitch with the program I used other things like the command prompt ping command and I seen a few packets get lost. Also seen something on paessler prtg network monitor. So theres something. Maybe the 1-2% is affecting it, if it is that. A couple times I even did the network statistics on the xbox and 1-3% would pop up on there. There was one occasion on nhl I was playing and all of sudden there was a big lag spike and a lot of packet loss I have a clip of it on my xbox Im pretty sure . But that was really rare. A normal connection you would never have any packet loss I remember I would never get any packet loss long time ago and now its such a nuisance.
On the other hand, I just reopened all the ports again today and it feels more better with my AI and passing power, shot power. My guys are picking the puck up more and all that. Still feel a bit of a turning delay but could just be the normal latency, and im just thinking any little delay is from this issue. The big issue right now is my guys not being able to hustle and react and all that. Opening the ports fixed that right now. We will see how long it stays like this. I'll update you tomorrow.

Sounds good. Thanks for the update.
- @EA_Aljo So could be coincidence the hard resets and clear cache sometimes works later at night. Usually never during the day.
Every single time I'll have it work once in a blue moon but it always goes back to being bad. I have a feeling it is to do with logging into ea Ireland. It's not just to login it pings that server every time I'm searching for a game too. So it has to be based off of it like maybe it's thinking I'm in Ireland but when I actually connect to my game server in canada the routing to it is going to Ireland and back. - EA_Aljo4 years ago

We don't actually control the routing. That is handled by your ISP.
- @EA_Aljo Okay so I'm trying to block as many as I can. Today I found two more Europe servers.
52.210.10.200 and 34.255.166.222
Still looking if I come across more @ChellinQuinnI found 2 more. Every time I close and reopen the game I find more on there. According to frosty on leaguegaming there's like another server that routes through ea ireland but I can't find it for nhl 22. I just keep getting different dublin Leinster ireland servers after I block them. Not 100% sure if blocking is working but I did it for both source and destination IP addresses. They just keep showing up different IP addresses.
52.215.171.88 and 52.49.2.66
- @ChellinQuinn See it's not the servers that are bad. I'm sure they're fine. It's somehow making people's traffic go to Europe and back. You guys need to fix this. Please make sure this gets passed down. Like other game developers with their games fix these things asap. It's surprising frosty and his people even figured that out in nhl 15 with captain lag but the same thing is pretty much going on in nhl 22

We don't actually handle the routing. Have you talked to your ISP about this?
- @EA_Aljo really doubt that 3 different internet providers have people being routed to Europe and back. Every other game is fine. I've talked to one provider and they said it's to do with the server I'm trying to connect to. It's the only game I ever have problems with. Don't you think there's something to that?
- @EA_Aljo Is there some kind of blacklist I was put on? That's not letting me connect to the correct route? It's super frustrating that some people have to deal with this. We've had different providers.

There are bans for breaking the Terms of Service, but we don't blacklist people so they have bad routing.
Are you using equipment provided by your ISP? If so, you might see an improvement by getting a separate modem and router that are designed more for gaming. I understand that can be a big investment though. You also could see if your ISP has some upgraded equipment you could use instead.
- @EA_Aljo So there was a time when I had thought maybe it was corrupted files or something so that's why I did the clear local saved games. It worked by preventing the sync up of the settings and I noticed every time I do that, it re-downloads the tuners. I've read that people say that for some the tuners make it worse for them. It could be that those tuner updates just don't gel well with some people's xboxes. Not sure if maybe that affects my routing stuff but it does help. So you can let others know that if they are struggling with certain things and relay this back to the dev team so they can fix the tuners and how they affect our gameplay.

The latest tuner is required for online play so it's going to download every time you load into an online mode. They wouldn't have any bearing on your routing or connection in general. Regardless, glad to hear this works for you.
- @EA_Aljo Yeah once you download the latest tuner it doesn't download it anymore until another tuner is available but when I click on clear local saved games it deletes the tuner and when I load up again it re-downloads it. So what I'm saying is they might not be sitting right with xboxes. Remember this era is mostly about digital games now. Disc's get scratched up messed up don't really get that anymore so that got eliminated but there will be another series of issues with digital gaming as well.

We'll keep this in mind. Thanks for the feedback.
I am 100000% sure that I need EA to contact ZAYO for me. I've talked to both bell mts and bell and they cannot contact zayo. As soon as my traffic goes through zayo it gets high ping and continues to Redwood California as well as being redirected through dublin ireland. I've checked all my options and the only option left is getting EA to resolve this issue by contacting zayo. It's on your end and everybody is right. Both you and the gamers. It is in fact at your end but it's also not your server. EA uses Zayo. Bell and many other providers are not customers with them. I'd greatly appreciate if this is fixed. It's not routing. I'm sure whatever issue this is will fix the routing issue at the same time. The high ping starts in zayo in the U.S before it even goes to Dublin Ireland. Thanks for your cooperation.
