Why is there no hitting after the whustle

Last years, “NHL 19” was an extremely fun game. Players were introduced to Ones and Threes, but one of the best aspects, and funny parts to have a good time with, was the hitting after whistles, it was a great mechanic, though likely not put in the game for a purpose. This year we were introduced to many new things, squad battles in hut, I’m pretty sure rivals unless it was last year. Then ones eliminator  threes eliminator for club. This was great and all but one thing club and playing now was hitting after the whistles! Me and my friends were upset of this being taking out of the game, and I know that this is not the most important thing to be worrying about, but please listen to your community, it was very fun and helped let out anger; and for me to just bounce off of him makes no logical sense, thank you. (Hip check after whistle too) and I know this isn’t a problem, but thank you for listening at the very least

  • I think you're thinking of 18 or 17 and earlier - In any case, too many people who couldn't take a joke complained and the team felt it was necessary to remove the fun.

To a lesser degree, penalties that could occur after a whistle were very inconsistent and it did kind of make the game last needlessly long (kind of ironic considering how long replays in NHL 20 took to end before the recent patch).

I wholeheartedly agree it was hilarious and fun and totally hope to see it back one day

We are asked very frequently to make the game more authentic to real hockey. Hits during stoppages go against that. Yes, I get that they were fun for some people, but not allowing this makes games more realistic as well as speeds up the flow of the game.
