Really pains me when companies only sell their software on the in house network but can't be bothered to get said network up to snuff to be competitive (Origin and Uplay I'm looking at you and Epic Store latest entry) and offer needed features such as family sharing. Don't try to gain my business with exclusives, win my $$ by providing a better client and store experience... like actually compete.... sigh
Myself the networks such as Origin here should capture my business by making the client and ecosystem better than the competition, not only selling your product on your network and having the ecosystem suck. Lucky for me I can resist playing EA games due to not wanting to support this toxic fragmented PC market. I want to buy software on the storefront / platform I like best and have the multiplayer be PC platform agnostic.
That said some companies will never play nice so at least bother making a game launching client that tries to compete and be up to par with basic features. If Microsoft, Steam, iOS, Android and consoles can offer proper solutions for families to not have to buy 2 - 6 copies of a game so siblings or children can play same purchases, Origin and others that are forcing there way in with PC storefronts and holding 1st party games hostage need to get with the program and offer a family sharing solution.
Last EA game I bought was on Steam and then they crippled game sharing using EA signin.... thus last EA game I bought, pains be but voting with my wallet. Digital content can be great, even the hated MS windows 10 store has amazing family sharing feature (though not advertised) EA and Ubisoft are driving me to boycott dragging their feet on this issue ☹️
