how to add non-origin game

I managed to add the game and it shows up on Origin.  However when I click on play it asks for disc. Is this normal for a non-origin game that I have installed on my pc? TIA

    @Bluegayle

    Adding a non Origin game to Origin is a good way to have an overview of all your games, but it won't change the start options of this game.

    So, if Zoo Tycoon requires the disk you need to put it in regardless.

Thanks for responding.  

Its an older Microsoft game.  Zoo Tycoon Collection.

It shows up okay on Origin but when I click on Play it asks for the disc.  

I do have the disc I just thought the advantage of Origin was I didn't need it any longer.
