[Mac] Origin not connecting

About a week ago my origin stopped going online. When I tried connecting, it didn't do anything. It was stuck on a screen saying that origin couldn't connect and to try restarting. I was still able to open and play games, however, but I couldn't connect in-game either. It started to bother me because I wasn't able to update my games (since origin was still offline).

I've tried restarting my computer (macOS Mojave 10.14.5) multiple times. I also just tried to uninstall and re-install origin. After installing it again, it showed me the sign in page. After trying to signing in, it returned me to the sign in screen with a "Could not connect to the server, please try again in a few minutes" message. Also, I can't open and play my games anymore since origin "isn't downloaded." 

Please share any fixes, I'm very desperate to play the sims 4.
