Need activation key to play game bought on steam

So, I just spent roughly $160 on sims 4 and dlc's on steam, and can't even open the game... This is most definitely a long shot posting something on here because any previous topic exactly like this,...

Hi @SirMoonchieMan,

I usually see this happen when a game was bought on Steam, but the player isn't logging into the EA account that is linked to the Steam account. 

Instead, they are logging in with another EA account that isn't linked to Steam at all. 

Luckily this is something that you can check yourself via our EA Help website:

  1. Open an incognito window with CTRL + SHIFT + N
  2. Go to https://help.ea.com/
  3. Press the Steam icon to log in with your Steam account
  4. Check the username in the top right, and make sure that you are logged into Origin with that EA account

Could you give it a go and let me know if it worked for you?

    I'm having a similar issue but with Battlefield 3. I just tried your example and it did NOT work, any other ideas?
