Origin for OS X 10.6.8

Im currently on an older Mac desktop, bought it in hopes of being able to play the sims on it through my origin account, well, Origin doesnt support this version anymore.

Is there possibly any download link i can visit to get an older version of Origin on my Mac?

Not sure if it will help, but my Mac is running OS X 10.6.8 and can't be upgraded any further, unfortunately. ☹️

@HaleyDanielleRos  Then in all likelihood, Origin just won't run on your OS.  Even if you could get it going though, you wouldn't be able to play Sims 3 or 4.  Your computer doesn't have enough RAM for either game, even just the base game on the lowest settings.  Even if it were possible to upgrade, and I'm not sure it is at this point, you would likely not be able to go above 2 GB RAM, which still wouldn't be enough.  I'm sorry, but there really isn't any way to make TS3 or TS4 work on this computer.

If you happen to own Sims 2 discs, you could probably play.  Aspyr also sells a digital download version of TS2 through the App Store, although you'd want to contact Aspyr to make sure it would run properly.  Even Sims 1 might work—I know it runs on Leopard, but maybe not Snow Leopard.

  • @HaleyDanielleRos  There is a legacy version of Origin, but I'm not sure if it would work on Snow Leopard.  There's no harm in trying though.

However, Sims 4 is only supported as far back as 10.7, and I'm not sure whether it would run at all on 10.6.  If you're interested in Sims 3, it should run on your OS, as long as you can install it.

The other potential issue is whether your Mac is even capable of running the game(s) you're interested in.  If it can't be updated past 10.6, it's possible that its other hardware doesn't support either game.  You can list your system specs, and I'll look them over, or ask for a second opinion if necessary.  Here's how to provide them:

  • Origin installed, but every time i try opening it, It says that its unresponsive.

  • Okay, thank you very much!
I heard the sims 4 wouldnt run, but wasn't to sure about sims 3, and i wanted to rule out that it was just me that didn't know to much about Mac.
    I really appreciate the help!
