@gabbyyferreiraa You need to input the password for the user account on your computer, as in, the one you enter when you turn it on. Origin is asking the system for permission to install the helper tool, and the system is asking the admin (i.e. you) in turn.
(Was having trouble logging in yesterday and changed the password. It didn't help. Neither login is working to get me into Sims 3 now.)
Thanks for the suggestion. I hope they have some other advice too. There's literally nothing wrong with my login; been using Sims 3 for a long time with no problem, till now.

@Player_nv7bpp5n Try clearing the cache of the browser the Sims 3 launcher uses: Internet Explorer for Windows (even if you never use IE yourself), or Safari for macOS.
If that doesn't help, go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Downloads and delete the file labeled [your email].bin, clear the browser cache again, and try to sign in.

Thanks, I tried those. I found the 6-page thread on this topic too, and tried all of those solutions. I may have simply lost the game; it doesn't seem like EA really knows what's wrong, and I can't imagine it's a high priority with how long Sims 3 has been around.
Let's see what they say over there. And I'll be bummed if I've lost my games and my stuff. It has been fun.- puzzlezaddict4 years agoHero+
@Player_nv7bpp5n I never sign into the launcher or the Main Menu when I play Sims 3, and my game runs just fine. I've certainly seen reports that people can't install store content without signing in, although that's not the case for me either. But the point is, you can still play even if the launcher doesn't cooperate.
It's also possible that the EA server is having issues at the moment, and that you'll be able to sign in again once that clears up.
