Unfortunately, we don't have any programs or games that have official support for the Steam Deck. Therefore it's possible that you're running into more issues than you would like.
Thanks.

Since I purchased this through Steam I shouldn't have to deal with this launcher at all. Maybe allow Origin to save my login credentials for offline play. Or perhaps EA should just disable Origin launcher when the steam deck is detected to avoid compatibility issues as everything else works just fine. This issue is already making me hesitant to purchase any more EA games if I think I could possibly want to use it on my Deck in the future.
Maybe add compatibility for the Deck as there are probably over a million out in the wild at this point. Just saying... you probably don't want to annoy your customers

Hi @stil29,
Yes, you still need to have Origin installed & running in the background (with your correct account signed in), in order to play an EA game via Steam.
At the moment, there is no EA game or program (like Origin/EA app) that has official support for the Steam Deck. If so, it would be mentioned on our website(s).- 3 years ago
It would be nice if EA would make a workaround for Origin being mandatory. It's honestly why I avoid buying EA games as much as possible.
Please pass along to your higher-ups that Origin needs to have an offline capability. I bought the game so why do I need an internet connection to play an entirely single player game? The answer is that I shouldn't. If my internet connection goes out. I SHOULDN'T lose access to games I bought in full. I'm not renting them from EA, I OWN them.
