Well I eventually found a solution that works for me. I went in to Disk Utility and ran First Aid and now Origin runs fine.
It still doesn't work for me. I payed a lot of money to play the sims and I cant even bring it to applications!
My origin won’t load, the app opens but its blank. I have uninstalled it and reset it again and again. But It won’t work and i can’t update the sims so I can’t play. Does someone know how to fix it?
Please run the Origin reset tool then try again.
same here! that's my frustration. EA needs to update their systems so they can be compatible with the Mac. I wouldn't have purchased all those packs if I knew I couldn't use them
Had the same issue, the login box popped up but was blank. I had to go to my system preferences, network, advanced, proxies, and uncheck the "SOCKS proxy" and the login box worked instantly.
Yeah, I’ve had issues since September of 2019 and EA has been no help. I just want a refund at this point. I’m dumping my stocks too. They suck
Not sure if people can see this, but please help. I tried all the methods that different posts mentioned. It just doesn’t work. I can work in safe mode and a guest account but with a admin and standard account, origin just doesn’t launch and it keeps saying it encountered an issue while loading this page. I tried resetting Origin, checked Proxies and firewall. Clean boot my Mac, etc, still it can only play on safe mode
I spend so much money as well and I am highly upset. Sims 4 is my comfort game and now I can’t even freaking play it.

This is what worked for me, hope it helps someone else.
Device:
14-inch MBP, 2021 | Apple M1 Max | Ventura 13.4
Unsuccessful:
- granting Origin full disk access
- funnily enough, I'm able to play fine now without having full disk access enabled
- disabling 2FA
- reinstalling Origin (simple)
Successful:
1. uninstalling Origin AND deleting all residual Origin files
- NB: I couldn't figure out how to "securely empty" the trash as mentioned at the end of the article, but normal empty worked fine
2. downloading and installing a fresh copy of Origin
Untried:
- creating a new Mac user profile
Interesting to note (maybe for devs?):
- when I first logged into EA to try fiddling with the 2FA settings, I got a 2FA email and had to enter the code to log in even though I had 2FA turned off. Unsure if this is intended behaviour when logging in from a new browser or if it's been a long time since you last logged in (versus going through 2FA for every login attempt) or if it's a 2FA bug
- logging into EA in the Origin window is buggy like this user mentioned in his last sentence. Ticking the "Keep me logged in" box causes the Origin window to refresh and lose my credentials, but I was able to log in and play fine if I didn't tick the box
I have tried every single step you outlined (thank you!) and after restarting the new Origin, I STILL get the wheel just spinning endlessly at the login. What the heck is going on with it, EA won't answer my contact and I haven't played sims for months!
