My origin was not opening.. It was giving a crash report so i thought i could just uninstall and reinstall it.. But now origin setup file is not opening.. Please anyone provide me with a solution
Sorry to hear that you are having issues @XxshamtkxX and @Going2kilzu1.
The first thing to do is to take a couple of minutes and try the following steps:
- Firewalls and Internet Security Software: Make sure that you’ve added the Origin client as an exception to any Firewalls or other Internet Security Software, like Ad-Block, you may have running so that your connection to our servers isn’t blocked.
- Your software may even have some Internet ports blocked. If so, the following are used by the Origin client and must be open for a smooth connection:
- TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
- UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 2990
Let me know how you get on.

Ive made sure that the connection isent blocked. And its running the correct ports
its not a connection problem im having, its a software problem.
I will go to open it. an it wont even run the Origin installer. In the task manager it will open 2 instances of origins then they will both close. Im not even able to get into the installation proccess of the Originthinsetup.exe
I was able to install origins before an since about a week ago I couldnt open it. So I did a fresh reinstall an still got the same problem. Wouldnt open. an now it wont install.- 5 years ago

Hey @XxshamtkxX I edited your post above to include the official legacy version of Origin rather than a third-party download.

Hey @Going2kilzu1 you can try downloading the legacy version of Origin as it worked for @XxshamtkxX.
I'd also suggest trying a clean boot of your system as this issue is caused by something interfering with Origin and you install: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/Darko

If you had read the post I have tried the legacy version an it sent it into an update loop. Also I've done a clean boot like a week ago so I'm not going through that process again just for one program an having to reinstall over 500gbs of games again for the 5th time in the last 3 months. Ide he better off getting a refund for the game I bought.
