[PLEASE ANSWER] Can't delete a Payment Method from my Origin Account.

Hello everyone.

Recently I've found that yesterday a FIFA 15 digital copy was charged from my origin account. I did not buy it, neither my brother nor anyone, my friends do not know my account info.

Said that, I want to delete my payment method to delete the credit card info from my account to prevent more of those issues, but I cant.  It says "Operation failed, try again later"

Is there's a chance to someone from Origin delete that payment info?

Sorry about my bad english, im from southamerica, so phone support is useless

    This is a player helping player forum and there are no game advisors here to issue refunds and your fellow gamers cannot help you with issues like this. That said, unlike Steam, you cannot delete a credit card from Origin. The best thing to do is 1. Contact a game advisor ( https://help.ea.com ) and speak with someone about it so they can assist you. 2. Contact your credit card company and tell them and have them issue you a new card so the old one can no longer be used. 3. Set up 2 factor verification so that  you make it harder for others to steal your account. Personally, this is why I only use Origin game cards to purchase things off of Origin. You can buy those at places that sell games. 

    *Can't change signature. Helping for now.

    I'm having the same issue,  but the person purchased 3 copies of Farcry 4 and 1 copy of Assassin's Creed Unity.. So, now I have two Farcry 4's in my library and AC: Unity. After notifying the family member who's credit card was on my account, we got the card cancelled. Still no word on the EA ticket, but I am not liable for these purchases. I messaged the Origin facebook page and explained my situation, and they "looked" at the message. No response at all whatsoever. I'm telling all of my friends to enable two-factor authorization and to remove their cards. This service is obviously quite vulnerable and at this rate, I feel like my family member deserves a refund on these unauthorized purchases and that the games should be enough compensation for this issue for myself. Now my uncle has to wait an extra week to get his car from the shop. Thanks EA.

    same here, and I don't play far cry. tried to delete card details and its stuck on a loading screen.

    I would like to add that if you're hacked, we have a What To Do When Hacked article that is explains everything you need to know. In the case of wanting a payment method removed, use this article to contact a Game Advisor and they will sort you out.

    Hi,

    Your issue is that you are unable to delete a payment method from Origin? What is the error message that you're getting? Have you tried using different browsers to do so?

    @Straatford87 I have this same issue; "Operation failed, try again later" when attempting to delete my credit card information. I contacted EA Help (6/10/2019 Raman K), and after an hour on the phone, was told that this is 1) a known issue and 2) that they can't delete my information from their end and 3) they have no current fix to resolve this. I haven't contacted my credit card company to reissue my card, as it's used on other online transactions, but as of today I still can't delete the information. Attempting to resolve this through BBB, but if that doesn't work I'll be cancelling my card. Given that this is a publicly traded company, I find it bizarre that EA Help claims they can't delete credit card information from their database.

    Forgot to update this, but BBB turned out to be a good way to get a response.  I got the following as a solution from Adam W a week after filing a BBB complaint.:

    "First, I wanted to apologize for any negative experience faced as a result of this issue. I've reviewed your previous contact to look for opportunities for improvement on our end.

    After reviewing your chat, I wanted to provide some clarification on why the payment method was unable to be removed.

    Since your subscription to Origin Access was still active, the payment method was unable to be deleted through our usual channels in case we had to refund the purchase for any reason.

    That said, I was able to stop your subscription temporarily and remove your payment method. I then added back the remaining time you had already purchased. I've also confirmed with the studio team that they are working on getting the wording updated on the description seen before purchase to prevent further confusion.

    You should no longer see your payment method on your account, but please login in and make sure everything looks okay on your end. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let me know!"

    So to recap, if you have an active sub you can't remove your credit card info;  someone at EA help can temporarily cancel your sub, remove the info, and then add back on the time.
